Best GM in the league and got a perfect puppet coach. That's where he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Put a coach with no power in place and concentrate on bringing in good experienced coordinators to run the team. He learned his lesson with Chip Kelly when Chip took over everything. after that, he said no more. From now on, I don't care if I have to bring in someone from Pats who's turning over cheesestakes if I have to, but no more hiring coaches who can take power away from me. He even allowed that puppet coach to promote from within for a year to show the owner, "see, you have to allow me to do that as well." Guess who Lurie trusts now?

Just look at the starters that were drafted and developed QB Hurts WR Smith TE Goedert OLine Johnson, Mailata, Dickerson, Jurgens Dline BG, Carter, Davis, Williams, Sweat, Nolan Smith LB Dean DBs Mitchell, DeJean, Blankenship Thats 16 out of 22 starters Add to that guys like McKee, Gainwell, Calcaterra, Steen, Hunt, Ojomo, Ringo and Brown on Special Teams If you draft like that it allows you to go after guys like Barkley, AJ Brown, or CJGJ to upgrade your squad

When they lost the SB in 22-23, people and the media expected the Eagles to rebuild and have a losing season since they couldn't recover from the loss, nonono, Howie went all in and drafted 3 Georgia players in one single draft in 2023, JC, N. Smith, Ringo and had another winning season, also in 2024 Howie had Quinyon and DeJean fell on his lap. Signed Zack Baun and Barkley which are key pieces to the defense and offense respectively.

Howie's last big miss was Jalen Reagor, but that may have been the miss that caused him to rethink his approach. Look at how he drafts now: rather than overthink about how a player fits the scheme or overanalyze whatever, he just goes for the most talented guy on the board without reaching.
