I think the UK has a different aesthetic than most Americans and that's reflected in the set design. A lot of UK scripted shows are more about the every day common folk while American TV tends to showcase abundance and extravagance.

Most definitely!! I am British through and through, and will admit their Birmingham and Liverpool accents are STRONG! But it very much adds to their characters!
