Except that's a very shallow outlook.....people are still fixated on an old narrative that was more accurate decades ago, things progressed and changed a lot....sure there are still some issue and f*cked up companies there but they don't represent the whole industry, and the same can be said about any othrr industry as well (US included)... it's just that the west tend to have that survivor complex mentality where "everything must be bad qnd miserable elsewhere and only we have it good here in the west"....
@lislac
@lislac 7 ай бұрын
@MidnightxCrow I think what Katya said still describes the K-pop industry behind the scenes. It's not just a mentality since it's simply just the truth in this case. Just because it's not as present like before doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Even recently, a lot of popular artists have come out and spoke up about the mistreatment of their company.
@maybemablemaples2144

it's not entirely accurate and a large exaggeration. the american music industry is also super toxic but it's only kpop that gets demonized the way it does. plenty of idols are treated fine by their companies, are rich as fuck and have long, successful careers.
@irma7220
@irma7220 9 ай бұрын
@@thehannahrobotoSOME idols do get treated well, but that is like 0.001% of the full industry. Thousands of idol debut each year and max 10 groups actually become big successes. What Katya described is what 99% of the industry is actually like. The multiple documentaries and exposés on the industry and different companies (LOONA and BBC for example) should tell you exactly what happens behind the scenes, it’s sad. Though I do agree that what Katya said is exactly what happens in the western industry too.

No, I disagree with this. The aim is to find the most 'perfect' physique overall. (Is a perfect physique a real thing? No.) It's not the most 'perfect' physique for what your body type/weight is. If they did a season per weight class, and it was physical: 100, weight class _ then that would be cool.
@lisreads4872
@lisreads4872 9 ай бұрын
@@AllyssaS It doesn't make sense to have different kind of athletes with different body types, sizes and genders, and then only to focus on strength based tasks. Agility based tasks or maybe some more acrobatic courses would even out the playing field a lot more. The show is heavily biased to pure brunt force, which overall is not always the best indictor of fitness. But you do you ig.

12:15 women may fight harder bc of the intuition and innovation needed to survive for their offspring. Bandura’s ‘bobo doll experiment’ from the 1960s on social learning showed that males will copy learned behaviours (copy what they watch adults do), but females will not only copy, but adapt and adjust in the moment also

The way Netflix scheduled this right after the Three Body Problem video.... It's like showing two opposite ends of T&K level of interests toward the shows they were watching.

I didn't want to be the first to say it lol I love Miss Mattel but she got it wrong. He did not come in 2nd last season, he got eliminated in the 2nd challenge the first season. Either way, he did a great job!
