Sadly, production didn't know or even tried to exploit their full potential, and they ended up chopping the twins' storyline very soon and unsatisfactorily.

A lot of people used to complain that episodes/seasons took too long. I think its a fresh approach but I definitely want to see the girls a bit more as well. So far its been a slow build into storylines

@@shaktra1563 Most people complained that the episodes felt too long once most of the queens were gone, like the last third or fourth of the previous seasons. I think that since they have to broadcast the episodes on TV, all of them have to be the same length, so they decided on 40 minutes. They could have made a longer version of the first 2 thirds of the series for WoW Presents Plus, that would have been smart.

honestly i think that was the best part of this episode … he usually pushed the queens into other characters than they wanted to do and or threw them out if they didn‘t(river/choriza) i hated that he pushed them so much in the workroom … imo ru is the worst part of mainline dragrace nowadays… he‘s always grumpy and has no fun in it anymore … more time for the queens less time for ru pls 😂❤️ and … 90+mins episodes back pls

Truly! I wish Aura would have used red shadows to paint the tension tendants in her neck to see that pain she was trying to sell- i wish Robins spider legs went all the way down, I wish Amethyst really leaned in and ruined that beat mug and hair with the blood. I wish sugar and spice became the haunted dolls and where holding the children . I just wish the concepts weren’t seemingly their first thoughts. It was fun to watch though. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Sugar and Spice's mindset was "I'm here to compete BUT I'm here to have fun and enjoy it with my sister more". They stuck with that mindset through the end even in their lipsync. I think it was different from what fans are used to but it was so heartwarming to see them stick to their guns when it came to their bond as twins. I also think a lot of people wrote them off because they didn't respect their drag just because they existed in the online world. I've loved Sugar and Spice from the beginning and (with the exception of that snatch game) I wouldn't have changed anything about their gameplay.

Cool"

I thought of a theory with SPICE and SUGAR's Snatch Game performances. My guess: they were both going to do Miley Cyrus, with SUGAR as Hannah Montana and SPICE as the Bangerz-era Miley like what we saw her do. Then the producers must've stepped in and told them they couldn't do that, that only one could play Miley. So SUGAR, with her Hannah Montana-style costume already there, thought she'd switch to Trisha Paytas as like a backup option instead. That would explain why it didn't seem like she had any jokes prepared for Trisha. Doesn't explain why SPICE gave one of the most WTF performances on Snatch Game since UTICA's Bob Ross though.

Also the twins storyline and the queens bonding (esp. Mistress and Sasha) happened on Untucked this week. I dont normally watch untucked but this week it was mandatory viewing. Basically the twins said "we either both stay or both go, we won't compete solo" and talked about their queer trauma and how it's always been just the 2 of them banding together. Most of the other queens came through with love and support and got them to a point where they felt like if one is told to sashay, then the other will stay and stil give it their all.

I really think Aura was saved by production capitalizing on the chance for the twinsync. Aura's snatch game and the vibe Ru was giving gave me second hand existential dread. It really should have been her and Spice in the lip sync, but Aura seems to be known for her stage performance, so instead of risking breaking the twins up in anything other than a twin lip sync, they took the other route.

You make some good points and I get what you're saying. I think Aura's runway saved her since it was more gory and impactful than the twins'. Also that production didn't want either twin in the bottom with a stunt/dancing queen like Aura.

@KellyGreenGables This! All of this! Her look was absolutely gorgeous and saved her imo. I understand what the twins were going for on the runway, but it wasn't very inspiring. I thought Spice was the weaker one of the two in SG and in the lip sync. But I already knew from the way it was produced so far they wanted Spice to go on alone. Still, Aura would have demolished that lip sync. :') edit: I thought Sugars half falling actually added to the song and when she did she made it work!

Honestly think a double shantay would have been an eye roll for the show. Having the twins be a major draw for the season and seeing the twins having to lip sync each other based on production, the double save would have been too much. Just an opinion. I agree that a winner and loser from each group would have been a better option though.

Every new episode that we get, i feel more sad for the queens and mad at production. This 40 mins episodes arent doing anyone any favors, such an amazing cast being this rushed is so crazy to me. Also, Snatch game at the 4th ep with 100 queens and it being divided to half PLUS the short eps??? A CHOICE! these queens expended so much money, time, effort for it to be treated this way by the show they loved the most... really sad.

FYI: The whole twin storyline for the elimination was definitely on Untucked. These short episodes just can't sustain the number of queens they cast this season. This week's episode felt way more paced like past season premieres. The reason they do a basic photo shoot for the premieres is because it's a challenge that is simple enough to actually leave edit time to showcase the queens a little bit before a first out.

I’m actually really glad the twin lip sync happened this early. It’s not fun as a viewer to engage with the competition knowing that at some point they’re going to lip sync against each other so I’m just glad we got it out of the way. Not discrediting their work in any way, but it’s the only outcome any producer would ever entertain. That being said it’s weird how little weight they put into the moment? Like you’re right we didn’t even get any hype for how momentous the lip sync we were all expecting to come, came to be. Just another elimination, barely squeezed in. A byproduct of these awful 40 minute episodes I guess.

I don’t get this either. To me she is easily one of the most memorable and recognizable queens of the cast after a handful of episodes. She’s a young, campy theatre kid with a clean aesthetic and a great sense of humor. Honestly it’s a brand of drag we need more on the show because this new generation of Instagram and tiktok queens (while talented) do seem to lack a certain stage presence and performance experience. (As seems to be showcased every time the kids pick a KZbin or Instagram influencer as their character)

Like Bussy said, the twins are a major draw for this season. So splitting them up this early in the season was a huge miss. I can't imagine Spice is going to stick around much longer. OR... Sugar gets brought back in a future episode.

Loosey absolutely killed Joan, but I am *so* glad she didn't do her other choice for Snatch Game. If anyone doesn't know, at Rosco's she revealed she wanted to play JonBenét Ramsey, you know, the little 6 year old girl who was brutally murdered on Christmas whos case has never been solved. I don't know what kind of jokes a person could tell on Snatch Game with a story like that, but I can guess none of them would be tasteful. The only angle I could see it being taken is her pageant history, but then why not do a Toddlers and Tiara's character, you'd have so much more material. Honestly it's kinda gross how many people were trying to rationalize a person making a comedic character after a murdered little girl when it came out. This wouldn't be like Eureka! 's Honey Boo Boo, it's giving more Trixie Mattel doing Anne Frank.

I think the disappointing thing about this season is that it feels like a lot of the Queens are really strong contestants and there is/was so much potential for some really cool storylines (I know it's a "reality" show but it's still solely decided by Ru and she can do whatever she wants). The twin-off came to a head waaaaay too early. I also think they catch a lot of heat simply cause they're willing to try more out there stuff. There's also just a ton less character development because the pace is just unreal now. It just feels like they're checking boxes on each episode. I'm already kinda turned off by the storytelling in the shortened episodes. When they had more time it felt like every week was an event, like this is THE show for drag. Now it just feels like every other reality drag show that's popped up in its wake. Also I have not nor will I ever watch that's stupid fucking WeHo show.

The twins are young and have been very clear around how isolated they've been. They just need some more experience. Mistress will be good for them. The Amanda Lepore was good. Amanda Lepore is deadpan. It was a good impersonation. A couple more joke would have been a home run imo. Her over the top confidence is a character choice - when she says she's 2nd or better than Trinity - it follows her character when she first came into the werk room. Don't beat it out of her. She's living her fantasy and we should be living for it.

I think it is pretty clear that no one, not even the producers, was expecting the twins to actually show up with really good drag, charisma and overall straight-up good performances on the show, so fearing that they wouldn't have another opportunity to have the twins lip sync against each other they took it this week and made everything in their power to make it happen in the edit, 'cause let's be real, Salina with that runway and the performance should have been in the bottom for sure.

i was definitely very surprised how quickly they sort of ended the storyline of the twins this season. don't get me wrong, i'm not really rooting for either of them to be in my top 4 or anything, but i thought for sure the twin-sync wouldn't happen until we're about halfway through the season, like around top 8 or so. maybe they just didn't wanna risk one of the twins being sent home by Aura before the twin-sync? maybe they didn't wanna risk Aura going home at all? idk it was really strange.

Sugar and Spice's doll runway outfits looked like cheap online boutique Lolita costumes that a high schooler would wear to an anime convention. Also the makeup screams "Creepy Doll Makeup KZbin Tutorial ". I love their concepts but neither look had the originality or dimensions of other looks of theirs. The results were very " meh, seen it before".

Doing 2 snatch games was a cool idea but it would've been better if they split it into 2 episodes. Either pick 1 bottom from each episode, 2 bottoms from each episode and have a lipsync in each episode, or even do it the way they did it
