Nymphia's win really made me very emotional as a queer Asian person, she really brought a lot of Taiwanese, or East Asian culture into her drag that has never been on drag race or shown to an English-speaking audience. A lot of her talent and wit wasn't even displayed on the show either- hoping to see more of her in future! I'm so happy to see Taiwan media really celebrating her as well!

I was routing for Nymphia since episode one. In that first episode Nymphia and Mirage were my favorites. While my favs swayed here and there as queens went home, Nymphia was always in the number one spot. I was routing for her so much that I felt physical pain during snatch game. I really loved all the finale girls (my opinion of Plane greatly changing over the season. Editors do be editing), I was hoping Nymphia would win. I really thought that Sapphira was going to win though.

I appreciate your interpretation because I didn't get anything specific about Plane Jane's gown besides it being a beautiful gown. I kinda lost the idea of "Russian" as part of her branding somewhere after Snatch Game and didn't connect the idea of ballet to it at all. I guess her branding wasn't cohesive for me enough to figure it out but glad to know there was something there to catch.

Plane Jane was close to full on disaster at the finale. Her interview with Ru was painful and really not funny. If she wanted the crown she might have tried to act like a decent person. Her bodysuit number would have landed her safe/low in a regular season episode 1 talent show. And that red finale dress was really just another jewelled corset and some tulle. The dude has real life issues. Extremely passive aggressive and insecure. He's not as good of a drag queen or personality as she thinks.

Nymphia's great, but this whole roll out of the carpet for her as a cultural icon of taiwan is political strategizing by both the west and taiwan to further inflame relations with China. The majority of Taiwan does not want to have war with China over the US's dumb desire to maintain hegemony in the region, which is why the presidents party has done so poorly in recent elections. Unless you like love Pelosi and Biden you shouldnt put any sort of emotional investment in "what this means for Taiwan" and should just focus on Nymphia herself.

I gotta say I hated the way they filmed the finale this season. So disappointing for the queens to not have a true live finale. And the canned audience cheers and claps edited over top were just so awkward cos it was obvious there was not even enough people there to be making all of that noise. It worked well for the lalaparuza but I thought it was just not up to par for a finale setup and ended up feeling like a bit of a letdown.

The reason why is because they still don't have the "rupaul's queen" rates when filming the finale. Usually in the past season, the finale is filmed a few weeks before the finale episode aired, but this season they filmed it right after the top 3 queen episodes. So they didn't get to collect money and buy prettier dress cause they still get paid in local queen's rates

THAT said, apparently the various strikes in Hollywood had something to do with it. It was filmed after the strike but it may well be that they had to plan a production around limitations before it was resolved.

The vampire concept matched the lyrics of the song in a clear and obvious way to me, apparently eating the bleeding heart she prepared didn't work out logistically. Sapphira is my winner because of how her huge Talent is on par with the power of her healing message and embodiment of love while still being authentically herself. Nymphia's win is equally as exciting because of her incredible mind, atelier vision/skills and most importantly how powerful her reach is to empower and engage Asia and beyond. It will be interesting to see what Nymphia can do with this win. I love that she did a IG Live with Jane Goodall promoting conservation and that the PM of Taiwan allied with Nymphia via her congratulatory message. Congrats to both Queens.

The finale stage sucked. They need to go back to the way finales were filmed. I think they filmed it this way because of the Writer's strike from last year. Apparently, the finale was filmed only a few months after the last episode was filmed. That's why we don't see as much of a glow up from other queens.

I agree they were both incredibly deserving, but at the same time Nymphia did destroy Sapphira in the lip sync. If Nymphia wasn't such a clear winner of that lip sync, I would be behind the double crowning 100%

Everything Nymphia did in that lipsync was carefully thought out. My favorite part is when during the reveal, she goes “shivers and butterflies” she opens the coat, the balloons started FLYING while the silhouette of her reveal looked like she had WINGS. Like SHE ACTUALLY IS THE BUTTERFLY 😭

So, the only connection I've been able to make with Sapphira and the vampire moment is the song itself. Padam Padam is a song about a beating heart and the lyrics can give off the vibe of a Vampire hunting someone or mesmerizing someone. That's all I got but it feels correct lol.

Just in case someone doesn’t know, Sapphira revealed in an interview that she had planned a beating heart/blood or something for the final lipsync but didn’t want to sabotage nymphia by having liquid on stage. (Not her exact story, I believe it was an interview with Entertainment Weekly so go have a listen) Also, apparently Padam was released while they were filming so they had no references for it really. Congratulations Nymphia 😊❤️

Looks to be mostly chicken or turkey with pheasant plumes at the shoulder and ostrich at the back, all birds consumed in the food chain and whose feathers are readily available to purchase. Unless you're living a life where nothing you eat, drink, or wear impacts the natural environment (impossible) then this argument can come off as hypocritical moralising. Obviously I don't agree with killing animals solely for fashion and I know there are most definitely issues with plumage being obtained unethically, however this is the case with all natural fibres (those videos of screaming angora rabbits having their fur ripped out haunts my nightmares) so it's never as simple as we are led to believe. I have to hope that Malaysia made an effort to obtain the feathers for her look from an ethical source because those channels are available

I’m VERY happy that Nymphia Won🎉🎉🎉🎉 I think having the smaller venue was awesome bckz it allowed more $$ to give to the Queens. They spend soooo so much on their looks and I’m glad to see them get paid. Sucks for the past Queens that helped make this show what it is today…. But that’s why we all need to support our local drag shows and spend our 💵 supporting them and letting them know we saw them on this show. I had the pleasure of meeting Sasha Colby at an Airport last year and she was gagged that I noticed her even though she was being discreet. Sapphire’s talent, poise, and presence makes her still on another level in comparison to a lot of winners of the show. I truly hope Sapphira gets her flowers. She is a stunning queen. Fun fact, this Season Finale had my least favorite looks of all time. Across the board I think all of the queens just missed the mark on their looks even queens you would think would give an amazing look like Xunami. Yeah, idk I was disappointed in everyone's looks this time.

I and I'm sure a lot of other DragRace fans have come to realize that certain queens who are considered a villain aren't going to win the season. Sorry to all the PJ fans but whether you think it or not, PJ came across more like a villain of the season. Especially when compared to the other top queens Nymphia and Sapphira. Sure, queens who are villains ((and those who are simply not liked or as likable as other queens)) can definitely go on to compete in the finale but they not going to win. Because of that fact whenever I see a queen come off as such, whether they done so by their own actions or edited to look that way, it's pretty much a guarantee they're not going to win. Though PJ did have a few times when she done something nice for others, those times were greatly out numbered by the times she (IMO) went out of her way to come off as a villain (mostly bullying Amanda) in the beginning and middle of the season. She practically handed the show editors her villain edit to them on a silver plater. That's the reason why I wasn't at all surprised that she didn't make it to the top 2. But she did make it to the top 3 so there's that. But everytime I see a queen come on to DragRace and go out of their way to be mean and attack other queens, I say to myself that's a queen who doesn't want to win no matter how much they claim in their confessionals that they want to win.
