@@Sam_ijbolThey kept trying to make her mess up in the finale performance, and kept trying make her give confessionals about how she’s nervous about the performance / might mess up. Especially because she had a small slip or something during a dress rehearsal, but one on the main stage, they kept trying to make her give confessionals about the slip. Kandy’s a smart bitch so she didn’t give them the content they wanted, because if she did then they would’ve included the slip on the episode, but without the confessional, they couldn’t. Then they tried to switch the lipsync song for the final 2 lipsync at the last minute, into a song that Kandy didn’t know and Jimbo performed all the time. Kandy straight up said “no, if you play that song I’m walking off the stage complaining about you switching the song” so they went with the original song in the end. It’s so weird, because Kandy threw the competition to Jimbo by eliminating Jessica at Final 3 in the episode prior. She did her bit to make the season reach a satisfactory conclusion, at her own expense. The least production could do is make her look good (or even just realistic) in the last episode, but they did everything in their power to try and make her look bad. Edit: Not that I’m saying Kandy would beat Jessica, she probably wouldn’t have haha. But she had the better track record and All Stars hasn’t had the queen with the best track record win (not counting AS7) since AS4, which was a double win, and before that AS2. Production really needed an AS season where track record mattered again, so they might have taken the popularity L and given Kandy the win despite the fan’s views on Kandy (which I disagree with - I love Kandy)

@@Sam_ijbol 1. They tried to change the final lipsync song to Milkshake, which was a song Jimbo was guaranteed to do well in. 2. They made Kandy redo her music performance about a dozen times, likely so that they get one time where she messes up. And in one of them, she hurts her ankle, and they try to make her talk about it in the confessionals. 3. They factored fan votes when choosing the winner, which is super unfair considering Kandy was obviously way less popular.

As a cheerleader, the safety always must come first. You start with very basic stunts and progress only when the group has the skills to advance in a safe way. It's probably not very safe if the whole group has zero basic skills.

I think the reason season 16 episode 10 was a non elimination was because Q and Plane were so obviously the bottom 2 and production wasn't willing to loose any of them yet.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned how your solution for Season 9's cheerleading challenge is missing a crucial point. Part of the reason they didn't eliminate anyone episode 1 was because they had the gag of introducing Cynthia Lee Fontaine as a bridge between episodes. It would have looked pretty shitty if they had eliminated someone and then announced another contestant right after. This could obviously be fixed by having her compete in the episode and introduce her the same way they did Eureka and Vanjie, though.

My partner is a audio engineer and I always make him listen to and review the songs. He also noted the bad audio quality and even Sapphira's verse had awkward timing. Even though they sang live on UKvsTW he said he liked them much more and was overall better singing. He said he enjoyed the first two more than the whole season 16 cast.

personally, I didn’t think that the political challenge on season 16 was useless. 1. it gave more of a reason for morphine to stay longer cause I think people wouldn’t like her as much if she didn’t at least kill one challenge. 2. it made sapphira’s track record better which seems like it’s going to help her going into the finale and 3. it finally gave plane somewhat of a redemption arc with her giving her potion to nymphia which probably wouldn’t have happened if they combined episode 10 and 11

I don't think you can say that the solution in some of these is making a previous non elim episode into an elimination episode and scratching an episode altogether. We know that every season has a contracted episode count so we can't solution for something like that by just taking out an episode altogether

I'm so glad someone's mentioning the audio mixing on Power. Go watch the episode again, you simply cannot understand what anyone is saying because the background music is so loud. I found a cut of it that sounded better, and admittedly I do like the song, but I would have preferred a political debate improv like on Season 12. The Made You Look lipsync was also just fucking nothing. Sapphira twerked and that was all I remembered. It's so glaringly obvious that Morphine isn't making top 4 so putting her in the top for this challenge, while deserved, feels like a pity placement. I'd also argue the episode 9 goth design challenge was unnecessary. It felt so redundant. Q is good at sewing, Mhi'ya and Plasma are not, we get it. It felt like an excuse to pad Q's track record and in the end it was just to pay homage to a Tiktok challenge from last year. I'm aware they film the seasons a year in advance, and that only furthers my point. Making a whole challenge based around a Tiktok challenge is going to date the episode severely, and it just shouldn't have been done. Even outside of the girl with 2 Wins going home, the original version of Bloody Mary is just straight up better (though I do like the tiktok version of it). Great lipsync but overall strange episode. Last few episodes have been flops for me honestly, outside of the stand up challenge. Like, what does designing a bathroom have to do with drag? Lastly, any episode right before a finale where they pull a double shantay out of their ass is ridiculous, and I hope they don't do it again for s16. Sorry for the essay lmao

the challenges in season 16 make a lot of sense when you remember that the writers' strike was happening right when it (probably) filmed -- so that's why we've only had one acting challenge and the Rusical; with 3 design challenges, the bathroom challenge, a makeover next week, and lots of writing and stand-up challenges.

If they desperately needed another challenge for the top 5 on season 10, that was not the rumix, they should have just dropped the whole inner saboteur thing and just should have made it a runway challenge with the french rococo looks and the prehistoric looks, which would’ve probably given them the same results.

The season 16 Funk Challenge was one of the biggest offenders to me. There was so many chances for a non elimination episode: Girl Groups(top 3 of the best of each group idk?), Rusical (even tho no one rly came close to Plasma not a soul on that cast did below safe in that challenge), or even the standup. That combined with the potion twist expiring during a non-elim was bs. Having the potion expire one week b4 or after would’ve given them the clear bottom 2 in Plane and Nymphia. Production just kinda has been fumbling some choices in general this season tbh.

No ellie more than held her own in that lipsync and at 1 point was even doing lowkey slightly better. And even if they put ellie in the bottom 2 the episode before i still think A'whora would've went home regardless

I am SO glad someone is calling out the Political Anthems episode. It may go down as one of my least favorite episodes ever. The only queens I thought did above average were Sapphira and Morphine, and outside of them and Mh'iya, you could have thrown ANYONE in the bottom 2. Non-elimination episodes are meant for times where the queens are stellar and proved why they should be there, and half of them flopped! They truly just wanted to save Q and Nymphia again. And don't get me started out how garbage the mixing for Power was. It was almost unbearable to listen to

That Evil Thing episode, I skip every time I rewatch. Not only is that an averages person's worst fear being publicize. It is so invasive and a cruel thing even showcase and explain. S16 Power: You are right this was just an big Emmy submission episode. I wish they would have done just a regular debate or had that 80s TED talk be the political challenge. Having Plane Jane use her potion that week , just to give it to Nymphia. Terrible way to use a Top 2 or non-elimination. Then horrible songs. Then clearly Q, PJ, and Dawn were in the bottom 3 and Production did not want to lose them yet.

I actually disagree on the political anthems episode. I found it really enjoyable and agreed that noone deserves to go home. But it's totally subjective, so I respect your opinion. However, I do agree that whoever decided to use a Meghan Trainor song for a lipsync deserves to be put in jail. Her music is awful.

What is about the power performance 😆 don’t understand the criticism at all. the rehearsals were quite goofy with almost everyone messing up, most of the performances catchy and even Nymphia doing great with nuances and minimalism. One of the best songs coming out within the last couple of years off a challenge like this and the lyrics can easily be heard, even for non-English speakers 😆
