Of course it is not decent to throw a plastic bottle in the ocean....But I have been sitting here for years watching fishing boats with sometimes 6 times 450 horsepower at the transom....We are talking about console boats with 1 fat captain, 6 bikini models and 5 fishing rods.... As if that's so fantastic for the climate and the oceans in particular... Virtue signaling for the stage and hypocritical.....

The fish is a Permit (Trachinotus falcatus). Looks too big to be a Pompano. It is rare that you would catch one like that in the inlet there. They are usually found around shipwrecks and the flats of south Florida and other tropical and sub-tropical climates. Nice catch. Most anglers release them as, but they do eat well.

The Magnum 27 and the Team Scarab 9 Meter hulls don't even have the same deadrise. The Magnum 27' has got a transom deadrise of 24 degrees, and the Team Scarab 29'9" a 23 deadrise. Please keep Your version of history to Yourself, and feel free to reach out to Mr. Smith, he's now living in Carpinteria, California. Don's employees and offshore racers, Allen 'Brownie' Brown and Charlie McCarthy, back East, could also share some factual history about this and many other great stories. Not even the deadrise of the Magnum 27 and the Team Scarab 9 Meter was the same and the Scarab had a 7'6" versus the Magnum's 8-foot beam. Don and Larry were buddies and always had a great time together. Read some books from the era that have the facts spelled out. 'Don Aronow: The King of Powerboat Row' by Michael Aronow, 'Searace' by John Crouse, and 'Tales from Thunderboat Row' by Allan 'Brownie' Brown should get You up to speed. Happy Boating, cheers Lars.

I don't like the distinctive downward sloping bow shape of the Midnight Express boats, it may look "cool" but functionally that seems like it would be easier for a water to rise over the bow. Style over function. I prefer a Nor-Tech over an ME for sure. Anyone agree with this?

The sloping bow design is to get better visibility when getting on or off plane. The Nor-Tech v-hulls got a pretty pronounced sloping bow too.
