If you have the room to swing, always put out more scope when expecting a storm. We like 10:1 Chain does you no good in the locker. The only down-side is retrieval when it's time to leave. Also, remember the distance from the roller to the water & tide with the scope. 5 ft tide requires 35 ft. of chain extra for 7:1 scope.

@@RoamingRupps I'd still put an alarrm on it and a counter for the bilge pump and bilge alarm too.

@@garyseven777 we’ve since added a battery monitor, separated the house and starting banks and rewired all the bilge pumps and plumbing.

Yikes! Glad everything worked out for you. You may want to consider isolating your starter battery to prevent a recurrence

Battery monitors are there for you to manage your batteries. Why weren't you using them ?

This boat is new to us and the previous owners didn’t have a battery monitor, which is why we have a way to restart the battery with us. If you follow along, you would know we rewired and install one ☺️

That was no storm, it's called rain. Better figure out your batteries, they are your lifeline. Your boat should not have been dragging anchor in that little wind and rain. Get a real anchor, MUST HAVE. GOOD LUCK GUYS. SAFETY FIRST ‼️ WEAR SAFETY LINES ON DECK‼️‼️⛵ Vinny 🇺🇸
