For everyone wondering about the smoke: it's a common issue of EA888 (VAG 2.0) engines where the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) Valve malfunctions and sends a bit of oil into the turbo thus generating lots of smoke. Solution: install an oil catch can and carter ventilation system.

There is a big difference between Golf GTI and Golf GTI Clubsport because Clubsport in that generation has front slip diff and the regular Golf GTI doesn`t. And of course this car was in proper hands

I'm actually suprised it got up that high, these gauges always stay fixed at 90C no matter what the actual temperature is, unless the engine is legitimatly overheating.

I am curious if you care to share with KZbin, how much damage was done, did you need just pads and fluid or discs too? What happened to them lol

@@bigt43 jfyi, stock (street) pads are always set up to offer great initial bite, but cannot take a lot of temperature and so will always fade on the racetrack. Just better pads are a great starting point, and then there's a lot you can do from there.

I had a similar brake experience with my Stg2+ Mk6 R, I run 6pot calipers now, but different pads like EBC Blues and 660c rated brake fluid in the stock brake setup will work quite well, the car even with 4 guys in it is not that heavy. The Golfs are just awesome and the diff on the Clubsport Gti is a gem.

Obviously Misha knows every inch, bump and imperfection of that track but to be able to get into an unfamiliar car and calibrate your brain to it's capabilities and use all of it is very impressive, well done sir I salute you.

Great drive. You wouldn't think this was only a FWD GTI based on that lap, and completely forgot about the fact you were on the opposite side of the car to usual. When you do 5000 laps of the ring I'm sure you get very familiar with everything, based on their question. I'm sure most younger people haven't done 5000 laps of their local roads here in the UK and consider they know them well so this track is something else
