Different strokes for different folks, in ME1 I liked the variety of weapons and armors but ME2’s reduced inventory was annoying at first but upon reflection it seemed like it was for the better (I.e less time in inventory management going from a version II to a III gun/armor that felt the same in combat to making each weapon feel unique and different). I like the cosmetic armor option since sometimes stat maxing doesn’t look as good in cutscenes 😅.

I’ve just played them for the story and characters. So it’s nice to see a video where someone else is excited for it. I’m hoping mage feels better to play. In DA:I for me it felt like the mage build was underpowered compared to the other enemy mages and other DA games. I didn’t like that barriers decayed naturally and no healing spell. I did only one mage play through and the rest were warrior focused.

@redrave404Ай бұрын
If I'm being very generous to the creators; the Tervinter Imperium (the setting of this game) is heavily based on the Byzantine Empire, and purple was considered the most valuable color (due to the difficulty in producing the dye), so was used almost exclusively for imperial regalia and symbols.

How can you say 'Dragon Age is back' when The Veilguard completely changes the tone, visual style, and gameplay? This isn't bringing back what fans loved-it's a reimagining. If you enjoy it, that's fair, but don't pretend it's the same experience as before. It's misleading to claim something is 'back' when it hardly resembles what made it iconic in the first place Changing the combat from a tactical, party-based system (like Baldur's Gate 2 in Origins) to something closer to God of War or Trials of Mana is a complete shift. The high fantasy visuals-with their polished, colorful look, and lack of blood, grit, or dark fantasy elements-don't feel true to what Dragon Age was. Even the Qunari look like pretty boys now! Plus, removing party control and focusing on a single character is another blow to the series' identity. How can Dragon Age be 'back' when it seems like a totally different game?
@MetalGamer666Ай бұрын
It would be more appropriate to say something like: "Dragon Age is the new God of War"
@gabrigamer00skyrimАй бұрын
Totally different game compared to what? DA 1, 2 or inquisition? Because they're all bloody different from each other. The series always had an identity crisis, your comment makes no sense at all
@TheRadioSquareАй бұрын
@@gabrigamer00skyrimIdentity crisis is when a CRPG game iterates on gameplay but stays a CRPG. Confidence is when said CRPG abandons everything it was known for to be a mid action game.
@Katie-hb8iqАй бұрын
@@gabrigamer00skyrim I get where you're coming from, but the first game in the series, Dragon Age: Origins, is widely considered the gold standard for Dragon Age by both critics and fans, and it established the core lore, tone, and gameplay that defined the franchise. Origins fans are still the majority among the Dragon Age fanbase, and its tactical, party-based combat and dark fantasy world are what many people fell in love with. We also know this fanbase is large because of the support behind Baldur's Gate 3 as well. While Inquisition has its fans, it was a polarizing entry that already started to move away from what made Origins special, which is why it had a mixed reception among longtime fans. What frustrates me about The Veilguard is that it's moving even further away from the consistent identity that Origins and DA2 had. It's not just another evolution like Inquisition-it's a complete departure in terms of gameplay, visual style, and tone. The user scores on Metacritic make it pretty clear too-Origins is not just the highest-rated by critics but also by the player base. If you're going to build a new Dragon Age, it makes sense to listen to that feedback. Inquisition may have been praised by critics, but the user score is much lower, showing that long-time fans didn’t connect with it as much. Origins's 8.4 user score compared to Inquisition’s 6.1 really shows where the majority of the fanbase stands. So when I say it doesn't feel like Dragon Age is 'back,' I'm talking about it straying from the foundation that made the series iconic. Changing the core gameplay and aesthetic that defined the first game doesn’t feel like a continuation of the franchise.

Origins were perfect at that time. Then there is failure. Inquisition took some time to fix and then it got great, but little too late. Its hard to tell how great will Veilguard be as Baldures Gate 3 had all we wanted after Origins. Seems 7+ out of 10

No, Bioware is NOT back. As a huge Dragon Age fan, I don't know what the heII this game is, but it is NOT Dragon Age. The character creator is an absolutely JOKE! The game play looks silly and uninteresting. I have no doubt the story is going to be just as awful. This game is a HARD PASS for me.

Some challenges left distribution of potions and spirit healers, mages with just three spells mages are like bag of tricks but in this mainly fighting like an agile rogue, how often character has to do evading and parrying fighting like a bat man seems tedious in this very long story either way I would think writing might save this like usual

It kind of sounds like you're in denial and trying to convince yourself the game has improved upon past systems by saying mechanics have been "streamlined" when actually it takes away a ton of freedom. With the game already looking incredibly linear with no open areas to explore, the last thing they should have done is dumb down the loot system. Having various outfits with different looks and effects to switch between whenever we want is a huge part of the fun in RPGs. Don't take away my inventory "clutter". It's precious :/

EDIT: wow, ca't express anything other than hype and praise can you without petty, childish passive aggressive replies, uh? the internet never changes. Y'all if you like it fine, but don't try to defend it or attack me, for not being as hyped as you. yeesh I hate the art style, I hate the neon pink and greens, I hate that I can smell the Solas stuff will be sidelined, I don't like the look of the party members or how try-hard cool they are, I don't like the UI/HUD, battle system looks weak, party members seem pointless, the list goes on... I'll pass. Dragon Age Inq was disapointment enough, tbh. Its like, there's so much love for the series but its riddled with issues and no game is ever that great. Its like we fall in love with the idea of these games, but the games themselves have no end of gripes.

@@satyasyasatyasya5746 so you can post a bunch of hate for the game but no one can defend the game? Great logic pal.
Bioware died a long time ago. Most of the original devs are gone. Veilguard looks like Fortnite clone with stupid millenial dialogues, combat is laughably worse without any blood, even romances are stupidly nonbinary. Baldurs Gate 3 is more Dragon Age, than Veilguard is.
