tentative judgement: obviously we're not yet done, and what happened could be part of his plan, but honestly this "villains are stupid" plot is getting kinda tiring. the writing for Corypheus was criticized because he was incompetent after Haven, and now they seem to be going for the same route with Solas. which is puzzling because Solas in the book and comics is actually competent. :/ makes me wonder about the writing for the 2 Evanuris

Dialogue is pretty atrocious lol. If you close your eyes you'd have no idea this was a medieval esque fantasy story. All characters talk like they're in a modern American TV show. The language is entirely modern and lots of typical American only idioms / turn of phrases are used here. Like "thanks for the heads up" in a fantasy setting?

Color me pleasantly surprised but this is actually amazing. I wish we had basic character art tho so I can better envision what these characters look like. I know there’s a voice actor’s strike going on or so I heard and it needs to be said talent like this, the ability to draw so much emotion from the characters and audience alike, is something that can’t be fabricated or under appreciated. Voice actors and actresses are just important to the storytelling process as much as it’s writers and they need to be paid and rewarded for their efforts accordingly. In conclusion, I loved every bit of this. Not having any kind of animation behind it really puts the voice acting forward and I can’t wait to hear more.

I played origins and inquisitions too many times in the past decade that when I tried to replay origins recently I remember everything too well, I find myself a bit impatient with the old graphics too. I did only play DA2 twice in the past though, so I’ve been replaying that. I usually consider it the worst out of all of them, but I’m really enjoying this playthrough and it’s making me so excited for veilguards 😊

"Among other things, I know you well" says Solas to Elio. It makes me think that Solas was the one who orchestrated this whole mess, starting from the proposal. Solas is a dreamer, which means that he can consciously enter peoples dreams, like Increption. My theory is he "Incepted" the idea to Elio in a dream to propose to Nadia, because he knew it would push her away. Then she would return to her old life, where she, suddely, had a contract waiting for her, to steal the relic connected to Elio. Then Solas somehow manipulates Neve to let Elio know about the robbery, so that he would intervene, while also leaking the robbery to the templars, which causes Elio to lose status. And then Solas meets them both, gives Elio a new purouse, and he volunterily helps Solas do some ritual, which can only be performed by a descendant of Andante, the maker of the relic, as Solas said himself. Or maybe I'm just digging too deep, who knows, we'll see. Edit: Peoples minds -> Peoples dreams, ancestor of Andante -> descendant of Andante

I love this!! THIS is the media format we needed!! Getting to have some amazing voice acting and frankly awesome sound work up front and center. You get such a richer VA experience when you aren't just recording one solid line of dialogue for a character, but letting them keep all the pauses, stumbles, and actual ACTING part of Voice Acting, like panting and running and the like. Not even hard to tell what was happening! Wasn't sure what to expect when I heard this was coming out, but now I am so psyched. Hopefully this will make the wait less painful!

Im so excited for veilguard and this is such a perfect companion till I get my hands on the game. The voice acting is superb and all the sound details in the background make it so immersive. Fucking Solas!!!!!!

Armen Taylor's voice reminds me so much of a slightly deeper Jonathan Groff. I really love his characterization. The whole voice cast is amazing. I was really excited for Mae Whitman and she delivered on that excitement but I'm really loving everyone in this.
