That is technically correct on one hand, but on the other hand, he somehow managed to figure out Kami wasn't telling him the truth about it, so this is why he stopped Kami while he was about to finish Piccolo Jr off right after Goku defeated him on the fair way and then he gave him a senzu bean just to be sure he won't die from his injuries he left him...but even besides the true matter Goku had to keep Kami alive so the Dragon Balls won't be gone, he still wanted to keep Piccolo himself alive too though ! You know, just because Goku was already thinking to himself Piccolo could be a better challenge for latter and making him a new rival all along with his other former enemies that became his friends after a little while...basic things like these that easily makes Dragon Ball one of the best things of all times ever created in the world ^^'

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is one of the few Dragon Ball games(Along with FighterZ and Attack of The Saiyans) that I can consider to be a good game instead of just a good "Dragon Ball Experience" that really makes you FEEL like -Batman- Goku. It's a game that I could enjoy even if it was completely original, but it has a license that I care about slapped on top. Great game.

I like SuperSonic Warriors for the what-ifs alone. Piccolo using the Mafuba on Buu, Gohan becoming the main character, heck as Freeza you can kill Gohan and THEN Goku right after and rule the universe. Made by the same people, too. Banpresto DBZ games are always a treat.

Just so you know, the "I JUST BROKE HIM HOW DID HE HIT ME" moment is because you buffered a parry at the same moment you broke him, parrying takes time to do the animation, and you can drop your combo that way if they don't hit it. Best thing to do is input one parry and go back to mashing attack.

Well actually it is later revealed that Kami was lying to Goku about reviving him with the Dragon Balls as after the fight when Kami attempts to finish off Piccolo Jr. When Goku stops him Kami tries telling Goku that he could be revived with the Dragon Balls again and that’s when Goku calls him out on his lie

Them saying they could revive Kami with the Dragon Balls wasn't a dub change. Everyone but Kami thought that at first, but Kami lied about it, saying they could, because he was perfectly willing to sacrifice himself. Kami says they can revive him again when he urges Goku to kill Piccolo, but Goku realizes the Dragon Balls would disappear and calls Kami's bluff, and that's when that piece of lore is established.

For Goku, use the Super Move in the air with L + R with a full Bar, especially after knocking the opponent in the air. Aim it right and it will shave a Health Bar.

7:50 Kami and Piccolo death tie was definitely a thing since the beginning. Piccolo Daimao spit an egg, so they didn't bring it there, but when Piccolo showed up later - there was a distinct scene where Kami asks Tien to kill him to stop Piccolo, saying they can always just bring back "only him" with DBs. To which Goku says, very calmly, mind you: "Are gods allowed to lie, Kami?". That was a pretty powerful moment. Though that was in manga, and i'm not sure how they could've ruined it it in anyme, or even further - in murican dub.

I always thought the bring Kami back line was nothing more than ignorance on the Z Warrior's part. They didn't know (except Goku) that Kami created the Dragon Balls and assumed he was just some god like entity. In that same dub, Goku figured out that if Kami died, the Dragon Balls would be no more.

This was my first exposure to the actual dragon ball. I was born into the Z toonami era and dragons ball budokai was my first summary of the saiyan, Frieza and android arcs. A lot of my knowledge really came from playing the games and then watching the show tbh 😭.

You have to play with characters like tien. And use some combos. Like charging while fighting and when the opponent is sent flying into the sky you let go of the charging button. I always used that combo to unlock Mecha tao. And the ultimate which consumes 4 ki bars, by pressing R and L. With goku you have to do that in the air, the same with tien. Tien and goku have to be in the air to use their Ultimate.

quick lore clear up the piccolo kami "both will die" connection was made back in dragonball and carries through to this day. the reason kami said and agreed that they could use the dragonballs to revive him was to ensure that goku would not hesitate in killing piccolo. kami's original plan was that if recontaining piccolo failed he would kill himself and in turn take piccolo with.

Glad you guys enjoyed this game! Something you might not have noticed is that Goku can glide with his tail if you mash the jump button in the air during 1v1 combat. Also his ultimate attack for that mode is aerial only. I wonder if a DBZ sequel to this game would have even more aerial combat?

Toriyama has more-or-less admitted before that he never really put much forethought into his work, he just writes it as it comes along. It helps make fight scenes more dynamic but really makes the world feel super disconnected.

I recall that Kami was excited about the whole thing, but Goku said no because if the dragonballs worked like he and Piccolo did, then the dragonballs would disappear. It's a big part of why Goku was so hesitant to kill Piccolo.

Kami was lying about being able to come back to life with the Dragon Balls. Since he failed to imprison Piccolo with the Mafuba he felt like there was no other choice but for both of them to die. He also wanted Goku to replace him as Guardian of the Earth and remove the Dragon Balls, thinking they only caused problems. Goku, however, threw all of his plans out of whack.
