The interviewer asked a direct question about in game transformations, but the way the question was answered, seems like it's not in the game how fans want it. We know every character transforms differently or doesn't at all. LOL, I might be paranoid.

See both of those titles are originally video games, not anime. Sure they looked like an anime but that's it. Blazblue received an anime adaption in 2013 but that's way after the game was released. What I mean is that DBZ is an actual anime that is now being developed into a competitive fighting game. That's why I say that DBZ is pioneering actual animes into becoming fighting games.

DasVICKS5000 Hunter X Hunter wouldn't work. The intricacies of certain character's abilities would be the ultimate factor behind almost every fight. I was thinking about this the other day when I was watching some gameplay for FighterZ. Characters like Kurapika would be practically useless or extremely underpowered against anyone who isn't a Phantom Troupe member. Certain characters would be direct mismatches for each other due to detrimental Nen restrictions etc.

As a massive Dragonball fan this is a dream come true right here. Not since Budokai Tenkaichi 2 have I looked at a DBZ game and just grinned ear to ear. Perfection right here. The way they are painstakingly matching the look, the stances, the fighting styles, the special moves, the special effects, everything it just looks so damn perfect. 2018 is such a long wait away but oh man it will be worth it. I think another character I cannot wait to see in action is Racoome. Probably my favorite non main character in the series just because hes so damn cocky and i mean he has an entire arsenal of special moves for them to use in this game so its no wonder he made the roster

I just noted that Buu regains his grey life if he's left alone for a certain period of time. That's actually really neat from both a reference and design standpoint! It's keeping true to the story because the whole issue of the Buu arc was how strong his regeneration abilities were, and it's also making it so you have to constantly be applying pressure or he'll just get right back up and eat you. If I recall right not many other games have Buu actually doing that... Maybe that one on the DS?

Combo Hell Actually they said in another interview that transformations will be tied to super/ultimate moves. So like SS3 Goku Is tied to one of Goku's moves. Don't think we will see multiple versions of characters which is a good thing.

I didn't buy Xenoverse 2 but holy hell am i gonna buy this if the roster is fairly large! If this succeeds as a title, i think it will bring in the new age of anime fighters into the fighter community. There seems to be a trend of the major Jump titles following gaming system footsteps, so something akin to a Naruto and One Piece version of this will pop up in a couple years and i couldn't be more happy! If i was even allowed to hope, i'd pray that My Hero Academia gets something like this too (especially because we're in the sport festival right now in the anime) and the series is gaining popularity like wildfire. Some things to note: - This doesn't sound like the only mode. So perhaps the entire game is not 3v3 which is a relief. Singleplayer gamers are going to get some love here so i'm pumped for that! - These 6 characters were chosen because of their iconic status and that their fighting styles are 'straight forward' to new eyes. So that likely means that not only are we getting a bunch more characters, but they will be quite distinct from one another! - The transformations were explained a little weirdly in this. It's worded as if they were saying 'We made sure that characters that transformed in the series could transform and that characters who don't are true to canon without any transformations'. But that seems a little too common sense. Perhaps a misunderstanding? Because the mechanics of transformations are not clear as we see Frieza straight up go Golden whenever he has sufficient ki, but characters like Goku don't go Super Saiyan 1-3. However this is quite odd, because i was under the impression that maybe he only changes for his ulti, but we saw a version of that move done and he stayed in SS2 the whole time. So either people can actually transform into Super Saiyan 3 like Frieza OR this confirms multiple possible ultimate combos. On that same note, i think we might get different versions of characters such as a God Goku and God Vegeta that works like Golden Frieza can. Maybe we get a Perfect Frieza alternate fighter as well where he gets super buff. - That said, when the fighters begin a match they all tend to do their transformations on the spot. Goku goes from base to SS2, Gohan goes from SS1 to 2. Cells goes from Stage 3 to Perfect Cell. Maybe i was wrong and Frieza goes from final form to buff final form in his intro? Buu looks like he stays normal (which means i expect that Kid Buu, Dark Buu and Super Buu Stages 1-3 are separate fighters). I hope we get a base form Frieza that can go into stage 2 and stage 3. I hope we get a base Cell that can go into stage 2. I hope we get a base form Goku and Vegeta that can go into SS1. I hope we get a SS4 Goku and Vegeta. I hope we get a Broly that goes from base up to legendary 2nd. I hope we get a Cooler that goes from base to final. I hope we get Trunks that can go from base through to buff super saiyan 2. - I hope if you go on a team with Vegeta and Goku only, you can become Vegito or Gogeta. - As a personal hope, i hope we get Super Android 17 (my fave character). - There was a little bit of coverup joking laughter when a joke about Trunks was made. The kind that's like "lol sorry we totally aren't allowed to say he is in, but he totally is" so from the way that interaction went down he's 99% sure going to be a playable fighter, which is awesome! - I don't think we will be getting Super content anytime soon in the base game, maybe as DLC, who knows.

Gonna speculate on characters and transformations. There will only be Perfect Cell cause that is the most popular. Same with Ssj2 Gohan, that is gonna be the only cell saga Gohan. Adult Gohan will be there however only Mystic or it could be a transformation. Super Buu and Kid Buu will be in and i say this based on there being 3 different Terumi's in BlazBlue. I wouldn't put it pass them to make Super Saiyan Blue it's own character like how Guilty Gear had Sol Badguy and Holy Order Sol. Transformations work in same way as Sol's Dragon Install in GG, it's a overdrive and once the time limit is done you go in to a vulnerable state(meaning you're open to be comboed if you fail).Will Super and movie characters be included, maybe but only the popular ones like Broly, Black, Gogeta, Vegito Blue(if fans get him in), Beerus. Sadly judging by the interview GT popular characters won't make it.

They could've locked the characters at the ssj forms... maybe it'll start off in base forms for actual release. OOOR they are actually not gonna include any base forms xD which would suck
