Similar to how gohan was supposed to be the next MC, they were sticking to goku being passive, let alone staying dead, in buu saga. In super gohan only gets like 3 highlight reels among a dozen Ls in his super run. Goku and vegeta literally spent so much time grinding that they didn’t bother to train their prodigy ass kids.
