the only problem with that is that by replacing pvp entirely you're hyperinflating all of the data you're getting. Because now ANYONE that wants to play pvp has to interact with your system even if they dont like it. So either the amount of people pvp will drop, or the number of players interacting with rating match proud are higher than they would be normally. If they made it a completely separate mode and made missions to incentivize playing it they would get data form people actually enjoying playing it. But thats just my two cents.

I think a major problem i don't think they considered when they came up with this mode was the fact that we don't have enough high quality units on a wide range of teams to facilitate a mode that requires 6 good units. For instance, i am stuck only running Uni reps because they are the only team i have enough lfs and zenkais that synergize well enough with each other to run. I propose that they implement some kind of buff (maybe damage inflicted buffs) to all event exclusive units so they can fill the remaining spots on their respective teams, and at least be able to stand up to all the UI Gokus, Beast Gohans and Super 17s they'll be up against. And if you don't have the F2P unit to 14 stars, that's the players fault. Oh yeah, and replacing regular pvp was just a dumb decision in general.

AGREEEED. Other tags do NOT have the enough structure to them compared to top units and it feels like all you fight is top or movies. Sometimes gt but they arent unbearable to play against.

I think Goresh may be overlooking the actual effect of this mode's systems. Before, if you were a f2p player, you only needed 3 recent units and 9 high rank equipments to PvP. During Proud seasons, you need at least 5 good units and 15 equipment pieces, and that's if you're willing to have a fodder unit on your second team. Plus, it disincentivizes the use of Zenkai bench characters, which most f2p players will be able to obtain after a while, in favor of harder to get LF Zenkais and old-but-not-that-old LFs that might've only returned a few times. It's possible that their intention for this mode was to get more people to feel forced to summon on low value banners just to have enough units to make their team. For example, before, if you had Ultra UI, Goku & Bardock, and Beast Gohan, why would you summon for GT Goku or Super Vegeta? You already have a complete team of as good or better characters, so you have no incentive to spend money. Now, if they announced another season of Proud, that might convince people that this mode is here to stay and they need to summon more (and farm more equipment, which they might spend on too).

I agree with all what you said, but I think most people are not ready to accept the fact that this game mode is just a way for the devs to make PvP even more predatory and p2w than it already is, some people will defend it saying it brings diversity to the game which had the same team building meta from the introduction of zenkais, but they forget that it negatively affects cc mangement especially for f2p players and even moderate cash players, if the devs compensate by putting more recent LF's and 1% sparkings in the new banners and stop recycling the same 1 year old banners maybe in 5 to 7 months people would actually have a good box to actually play the game mode without having to use fodder units, but I really doubt they will change their policy about returning units.

The only issues I have is that: 1: HP buffers are basically dead outside of pan in this mode 2: Team building can be difficult if you don’t have 5 or 6 USUABLE characters that fit on one team. 3. It adds more RPG ness to matches due to having to guess what team your opponent will choose, also making a tough choice most players have to make in this mode which is do you bring you mid team then your best team or your best team then your mid team?

1. 100% agree with that one 2. They just need to focus on building up more dead teams. They did it with regen and uni reps last year, I suspect they'll do GT, vegeta clan, and hopefully game originals this year. 3. Just my personal opinion, but I like the rpg aspect of it. But in my experience, all you gotta do to counter it is to run 2 really strong units and then 1 weak unit for each round. And with the strong zenkai units they've released in 2023 and this year so far, even the weaker units can perform very well in high level pvp.

@@stepworudo4966 to be fair, doesn’t sound like they were using the most cohesive team but I do think 21 is ok but in the higher ranks where ui is like every other match and characters like zenkai bardock, zenkai cell, zenkai ssj 4 goku, gammas, etc are seeing more play due to the nature of this new mode idk how well she would hold up. And I’m saying that cause I run into at least one of these yellows every match.

There are multiple paths the dev could have taken and i believe this was the... one with least problems? Let's put this into perspective Path one: Listening to players and content creators; They put proud mode and Normal ranking as separate things; This will lead to players flocking to the new mode Day 1, only for 80% of the playerbase return back to normal ranking match. Players will stick with just uberjuicing characters, The feedback will be miniscule for the dev, the mode will be scrapped or reworked for a banning system like goresh mentioned, but it would take much more time and, like goresh mentioned again, will be hell for featured units. Path two: Our timeline; This mode helps devs understand the general opinion on previously already tested PVP ranking (Normal) and a new format (Proud). With this they can formulate new kinds of pvp modes for future reference. Leaving out the main PVP mode was a stupid decision yes, but also a necessary one, this increases player feedback, and brings something new to the table by encouraging different teams outside of the conventional format. Path Three: The decadent timeline; The mode was never released in the first place, We as players, would continue to rant about 3 uberjuiced characters and lack of variety and content in PVP, The devs would have no incentive to dip their toes into new grounds for PVP, which in-turn, will slowly kill creativity for the PVP department, focusing on PVE (which is shit except for Despair mode) where most streamers or Content creators can't properly showcase because pve is just that bad. So conclusion for this timeline; PVP is the same, the game is the same over and over, and we continue to get shafted in more ways than one.

For me, the worst thing is that one Proud System match counts as ONE PVP match towards the battle plan. This makes getting all the crystals in the plan twice as long since it leans towards PVP activity. It would be nice if they made more PGs associated with regular activity or made Proud systems matches count correctly.

For the ban system you were talking about and how it might disincentivize people from summoning for the new best lf or ultra since they would be the best character at the time of their release, what if every new lf or ultra that gets introduced were to get like a season long (or two, or etc.) grace period from from the ban so that people would still be able to justify dropping CC for the unit, while also allowing that unit to have its temporary spotlight in the competitive scene. Once the grace period ends for that character, they would be able to get banned by the player like any other unit. And, this could also extend to characters that get a recent zenkai, so that they would be able to show off as well.

my thought on this pride mode is it forces you to summon good units, it requires u to have good units (new char and high star) which kinda forces people to summon more. Not only that, it also wasted all our material on old Zenkais units that we used to buff our team. Those old zenkais are not useable, they are just there for the buff but now they force us to use all six units. It wasted all my time and materials that I spent on the zenkai.

Honestly aside from the connection issues it’s a pretty fun mode. just need to tweak a few things like for 1 have 2 additional exclusive spots for zenkai buffs that way it doesn’t mess up the team synergy. 2 allow the winner to back out 🤷🏾‍♂️. 3 increase time count to 150. Fix those things and it’s perfect . Idky everyone hopping on the it’s a bad mode bandwagon. Gotta understand that they are testing something new it will improve overtime😂.

If anything, I think they should coexist like most people believe, but they should also share the same RP Pool. If RP Rewards were adjusted to give the 2 modes equal value, it’d allow for a much healthier and less tedious mix of gameplay. Also, side opinion: Treasure battle should give items such as Haste Tickets, USTR Medals (as 25/fortnight with an exchange cap of 30 is cruel) and a higher rate for a smaller volume of crystals.

I like the idea of the Battle of Pride, and I think it could be implemented on regular PVP as a rematch system. So it would be something like this: you lose the match, and then challenge your opponent for a Battle of Pride, a battle where you both have to use the other three units in your team, But you, as the challenger, has the right to bring at least one of the units you last fought with. This Battle of Pride would also give double RP to the winner and a special Pride Medal, meaning that the challenged player also has some sort of reward by accepting the challenge. Pride Medals could be used as special exchange currencies or something.

in a way I get what they were going for, it's incentivizing using actual full teams rather than glazing up 3 units and only seeing those 3, but it shouldnt have been forced to be only ranked. Also makes alot of other teams more valuable/viable. I.E. Team bardock (With shallot) has 2 Hp z abilities which is very important in this mode where alot of teams cannot have zenkai buffers

I think people would be 10x less harsh if they were seperate modes. But personally, I'm enjoying it a ton. I'm using characters that I've never used before and choosing units actually matters. This is actually the most I've enjoyed pvp in months. Reminds me of the good ole days of legenda before we only ran 3 units. Nit a perfect t mode but better than what we've been dealing with. As far as how long matches are, pvp was already a time-consuming process, so it's not really that big of a difference.

i think that this gamemode is just a easier way for players to gain rp. keep in mind that in regular rating match if you lose compared to winning your placement in the rankings goes down tremendously while as winning doesn’t give you enough rp for the amount of work you have to do to win . and on top of the rp discrepancy every new unit that drops is usually the new best unit in the game meaning that every pvp season if you don’t have the newest unit or at least somewhat recent units your chances of winning goes to shit. obviously a good player can win any match but with this new gamemode the second match is usually a match based more on skill than having to rely on the new shiny unit to carry you through pvp. and even if you lose the first or second match you can’t bring your best team to the third round unless you compromise in the 1st or 2nd round on your team composition so this gamemode is definitely for people that liked skilled based gameplay more than regular boring zenkai buffed to hell teams that are annoying and in certain situations just boring to fight against. imagine losing to the same team every fight or barely winning against the top team just to fight it again the next five - 20 matches or some variant of the top team. the playerbase needs to be more open to new and inventive game modes. if we’re just playing the same shit every month and waiting for the meta to change/shift we might as well say the game is dead . my idea that i think would solve this whole problem is for legends to give out more resources so that the f2p and even the p2w players don’t have to complain about losing in pvp and not placing in the top ranks of pvp and getting the best rewards possible every season. i think they could do this by introducing a lbr game mode where your team is randomized with no equipment and it would be held at the same time as rating match but you would get the same rewards from each mode with the same ranking system that way when you want to go into pvp you don’t have to play the same boring shit.

It is good. It’s a First Time release a game mode like this. Sure it has its teaks and stuff it needs to work on. Not You can’t just base off on those tweaks itself. Whatever it may be. Learn to enjoy a game you’re meant to. Just make the modes double ladders and make it so that you can't place high and win the premium PVP rewards in both ladders, like if ur 2k on regular PVP but if you're 10k in Proud you cant win the 1000cc there also. This way you can't "steal" RP rewards from players choosing to play Proud as their main form of competing.

Me personally I didn't even play it a full day and quit. I put quite a bit of money into the game and time. I feel like it's just a spit in my face for all the hard work that I put into all my ZenKai characters, and my health buffers. I put so much z power into my health buffers. And now I can't even run them. Plus need this to say I have a full team of legend limited but. It's just not fun running into the cracked out opponents all the time.

The thing with gaining RP when the match is a draw is that the RP gain is so minimal that it hardly changes your actual rank. It's basically a little compensation for you spending so much time of your life fighting the same guy for 2 matches and it ending as a draw when in normal PvP you could've just been 1 and done after you win the first match.

It's cool in theory but in reality it's terrible because there is just not enough units to make a competitive team that isn't Saiyan's. So most people use the same team they used before and just hope they win one of the first 2 matches to take it to game 3

There is even a way to not be able to use the new Unit in proud Battle. You just give up the match for example your opponent is using Super17. The first or second match you gonna win, depends on which Super 17 was used and just leave than. So there is a technical way not be able to use the new charakter that is coming out the next 2 days.

IMO the thing holding proud match down is that not enough teams actually have 6 good units since most teams are 3 units upheld by old trash zenkai buffers whose sole purpose is bench.

For the ban concept just make it where leader is unbannable so the ban could go one of the other 5 on the team. This way the new character can't be banned still giving people a reason to summon.

I personally prefer so far this gamemode than the regular PVP mode, more diversity, more entertaiment, leader slot nerf and zenkai character finally more than a bench. This mode is really a ranked match like, if he remplace the actual mode i won't be mad at all

For real man this Mode is so much fun, you have like a revenge Option here. Only one game its bad because lets say you lose a fight and yourself say in your mind if i would face him directly again i will destroy him and then you did and then the 3rd last match (pride match) both decides if they go for it or not. And after that you are more satisfied with the end results.

The mode is really fun, but if they were thinkin about replacing a mode for this season, they should've replaced treasure battle not regular PVP. So when we have limited time we could play the regular PVP and when we know we have some time to spare we could do Proud Battle. Replacing regular PVP was the worst decision to make, they possible were thinkin that having two modes would be bad and people would only play regular PVP and the Proud Battle would be there with no one playing. But cmon man...

I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt that this is so that people actually play this game mode cuz I almost guarantee that if this was a separate game mode most people would play it for a day and go back to regular pvp. Having it as the only pvp mode is really dumb but imma give it a pass for now with the caveat that it becomes a secondary game mode in the next season.

my only issue with putting it on the side with normal pvp is that they won't get enough data from the players on how much it was enjoyed. cause i know i definitely wouldnt touch it at all if we had normal pvp. I feel like I'm being punished for not summoning for every unit or for not pulling a unit.

Mixed feelings on it. On one hand I hate it, it’s very inconvenient and makes playing more of a task rather than a match here and there when I have time. On the other hand you’re seeing a lot of units used that haven’t gotten play in a very very long time. I’d like to see it as a separate mode.

Ive played for many years and get at least top 6k every season since i dont grind much after hitting like top 4k . This is the first time im taking a break , cause this mode is cool for a few times, but so long to play 2 matches or 3 if you loose . Got bored really quick , shouldve been just a separate pvp event.

It may be fun if they have this same system, best two of three. But instead you bring in two or three parties instead of just the one. So once you play with one party, you can’t use that party again.

I feel like the mode would be fun as a separate thing but I don't think it should completely replace PvP. Personally I don't really like it especially since I just started getting better at team building and now I have to completely change my teams. I also don't like how they got rid of the ggs, good party and good skill especially when you've worked hard and was a big accomplishment seeing how many ggs you had. I was coming up on 500 ggs too

I think that a smart "solution" it would be to activate the game of 3 sets after the players reach level 60 or 65 on normal pvp so the first matches would be normal and casual and if you want to keep scaling then you have to play the set of 3

Today i did a couple of matches. Well im F2P but well i can just say im like rank 56 RN and i just get the first.(I think a better way to implement it would have been like with Battle royal). You get 3 or so tickets daily keep it the same and give us like 300-500CC from wins.

The team building fundamentals that Legends players have gravitated towards over the years does not work with this game mode. You need zenkai buffers and hp bench for a proper team to be built and you can't really do that in this game mode if u wanna have a chance at winning 2 matches in a row, because said units are too weak. For this game mode to work said units would have to be much stronger. Also the leader slot mechanic suffers a bit aswell since you are not able to mismatch categories, when you are forced to not select him, if the leader hasn't got a Z ability that covers the other units then you have one less Z ability buff, basically limiting your team build possibilities. Overall I think they need to rethink some aspects of this game mode for it to be decent.

I remember there was one match where I actually could not use my team leader or the 2 units under it, as in for the THIRD match, I could only pick 2 of the top 3 characters on my team, which made no sense

It's good to me because it prioritize skill alot of ppl only win because they have high stars so playing with old characters mean skill is most important

I think it's the opposite though, it's an advantage for people that have more units at higher stars. People that have skills but can't summon as much are not only gonna have less meta units, they also are not gonna be as high starred, which makes it worse. If you don't have a lot of money and have been playing for a while, you can solve this issue in the regular pvp by having good zenkai units, as it can be free considering it's old units and such. In my own experience as someone who can summon a lot, i mostly (much more than in regular pvp) meet teams with older units, rarely a full team of meta units. So unfortunately the mode favors me in that sense (i mean, i still lose frequently, as i am trash (edit: okay i'm exaggerating i'm not that bad, but someone with more experience is generally better than me as i've only been playing for a bunch of months) at fighting game - although i currently have a winning streak - but it's certainly not due to my skills)

@@GEMINIKING87 depends who. If you play saiyans, universe rep or gt, you can make a team with 6 very good units. Some are gonna be weaker, but definitely stronger than older units

Honestly i think the only issue with the mode is forcing you to bring every unit. What they were going for was clearly a salty runback mode where you can play again to prove youre better, but it just ends up being more time xonsuming and worst for people with less developed accounts or bad units. Most of my matches have been vs people clearly outside of my skill bracket using 2 year old units that stand no chance and Im not even allowed to bring my preferred teams since i dont have enough units to confidently win. Just add a salty runback feature to pvp where if you win the match and the runback you get more RP but if you lose it you can leave and get less rp or call a bo3 and the opponent has to run it because they called the runback originally and whoever wins takes all the rp.

An easy fix is to bring back the anni/fest treasure battle shop and make that permanent so treasure battle is always lit and make proud and regular PvP alternate seasons. Proud is lit and it’s going to be healthy for the game eventually once it has insane rewards backing it

I hate how the timer isnt long enough in the first two rounds. Most of my fights have gone to time especialy when they have endurance/ revival chars.
