Seriously feel the same way. I am having A LOT of fun in this game, but I really wish they went a little further into the story. Like, don't get me wrong, the MP is the main reason I play, but the story mode was such a fun way to get my little brother into DBZ. This story mode I feel like I'd have to fill in the gaps and it kinda expects the player to already know the story. I get that you can't really spoil the Titanic anymore, but I wish they matched the best gameplay and visuals of a Tenkaichi game with the best retelling of the series. I really have no desire to watch Super, so this would've been a fun way to get the whole story.

My problem is the lack of planetary destruction. I am using characters that destroy planets by accident. Why when I use an ultimate, it just ends in a cloud of smoke or doesn’t vaporize the enemy? I think FighterZ got them beat with that. The destructive and dramatic finishes were too cold.

bro what's disappointing is the lack of unique looking combos, remember the old games buu used to use stretchy arm moves , yamcha used to use his wolf style punches and kicks and burter had these lighting fast blurry combos like the anime, but in sparking everyone just combos the same, no unique flare to each character. yes burter combos fast in sparking but it doesn't have that lightning fast effect it did in old games

The outfits really disappointed me. All I wanted was kid Gohans orange gi with the sword piccolo gave him and Future Trunks movie 9. Long hair, not tied back, jacket/black tank top variants. Super Saiyan trunks in that movie is sick. I would have been happy with whatever else they decided to give other characters, I just wanted those two. I highly doubt future dlc will deliver them, but I'm still hoping.

same... Almost all the outfits are just the normal ones but with different levels of damage to them. A bigger disappointment for me is no Bardock story mode, though, especially since we now have more content for Bardock than we did before. I don't really give a damn about Super Saiyan Bardock, but at the same time I thought him going back in time and becoming the legendary super saiyan that Freezer's ancestors warned about was cool, even though the idea of him going back in time in the first place was not... I still wanted to play that. I'll be surprised it it never gets added in future DLC...

Happens all the time to me. Been playing fighting games my whole life - played in multiple events for many fighting games - the inputs on this are definitely sketchy sometimes haha. Having a lot of fun but it’s really the only game I’ve run into this sort of issue this consistently.

Rant Mode On [✔️] Off [] I can't say that's ever happened to me. So far my combos have failed because I either pressed the wrong button or got countered. Never a glitch. Side note. I can't fault the game itself for this but I cannot stand online play, ranked or casual. When you get matched with different players that are using the same 4-5 top characters and doing the same lame cheesy strats that have no counter play, online is not fun and instant turn off. Of my 65 hour total playtime I probably have a little over an hour of that in online. The rest? Single player/offline mode and still loving it. Haven't been able to put it down since I downloaded it. Solid 8.5 outta 10 for me. Rant mode on [] off [✔️] 😅😁

TBF, it's on par with Tenkaichi 1 - which should be a reasonable expectation because this is a first installment to the new-gen series. You can't just copy/paste assets & code from the PS2 game (not that the source code even still exists for it; it wasn't until the PS3 generation that studios started saving backups after the game gets printed; beforehand they were deleted so the devs could reuse the HDDs that stored the code for developing a new game) onto modern platforms and expect it to work; everything had to be made from scratch. BT3 only had as much content as it did because it had 2 other games to build off of where you legitimately could just copy/paste certain parts to

How about a character creator with full sliders ( even T and A sliders for the gal characters). Customize stages, indeph voice acting for everything. Costumes are really lacking. Maaaan, I was hoping to always play with Goku using his End of Z outfit he wore in the last Z episode, like I did in Tenkaichi 3. It's not here, it should be here. My main issue with this game is definitely how it is horrible at giving you information. There’s no way to tell what type of character one is, each character has a lot of random things given and taken like the follow ups to combos and some abilities like some of the speed class being able to teleport short distances on the fly while sparking and others who at least have combo as their highest stat not, the tutorials suck and explain to you what HP is but not the little bar next to it made up of squares, they don’t explain the difference between each class like the giants’ perception button being there to hit people on the floor, and even after getting pretty decent at the game I still don’t know a lot about it.

It actually is all explained but it is not very intuitive. For all the skills and combos you have to go into "explanation of controls" and for information about giants and all the other kind of stuff you have to go into the super training and there are a bunch of written tutorials.

@@Herodotus888 Yeah, I know that but the game is set up so that most characters are nearly identical control wise. I never even thought to go to the controls section to look up perception which everyone else has especially with how stupidly divided that menu is. Several sections are based on movement like simple movement and movement from short and movement from long range. I’m sure several of these parts could’ve been made into one section like these movement sections and defense, counters, and recoveries. That way there could be a simple section about unique class mechanics rather than looking through every mechanic to find any differences or at least let me see the controls for all of my characters rather than just the chosen one. They should also be given tutorials as it would still be a better way to teach the player and more complex tutorials for that matter. For most of them it’s just do the move and I only remember one of them having an actual tutorial explaining the use of a move which was the vanish counter which had the just do the move tutorial and then had another one called vanish counter uses which introduces vanish wars to players. Everything else gives you no use for them. I didn’t even know the dragon dash was for countering projectile based play styles which had me struggling a lot against them as I only knew to reflect and close in on them while doing so which lead to me being attacked first or lead to them throwing a charged ki attack. Don’t let my complaints fool you about my opinion of this game as it’s pretty good.

Custom Specials and Custom outfits were 2 things I was praying for. I was doubtful that we'd get custom supers since they opted to not go with the ragin blast method of making 1 goku with a bunch of different specials, but instead like 30 gokus instead but held out hope when I saw trunks and 18, needless to say, I was disappointed. But what actually made me mad was no alt colors and all the damn outfits we missed. I was severely annoyed when I saw there were no color variations or any way to customize the colors. I lost my ssj4 with the black fur, inverted colors ssj4 gogeta and my END OF Z GOKU FIT. That actually made me mad. All my favorite fits didn't survive the purge.

I'm so glad people like you exist calling out these issues with the game and as you mentioned and we know, there are quite *A LOT!* of them. Personally, I am contrary to you and you can mostly catch me online fighting and stuff and let me tell ya, - it's a damn horrible experience. Controls locking, connection issues, Insant Sparking Mode Ult Ki Blast Spamming [unblockable] is a real problem to deal with. On top, people are receiving messages and ristrictions for plugging or cheating, despite playing fair and square. Tournament Mode is incredibly buggy too. Sometimes you're locked out of the option to hit ready in your tournament or leave the lobby..all you can do is scroll the chatlog and display the Room ID. This control lock will persist well past beyond starting, to the point you are not even able to control you character when a Match starts. Very frustrating to say the least. Again, I'm glad you brought up lots of well earned critique for this game, I and other fans payed 120€ for, to get Vegeta with slightly different boots amount of effort in 1/5 costumes for that any example character. Yes, there are many positive things but fundamentally there are so many issues with this game after it's rushed launch breaking DBS0 neck in terms of gaming experience and enjoyment for me.

I know this is supposed to be BT3 come again, and RB TECHNICALLY isn't part of BT, but it's been disappointing to be back to less supers, no counter-supers, and some of the rushes are kinda boring now. There's still ones that are god tier, like Turles' ultimate, but stuff like Sadistic 18 and Super 13's ultimate don't feel anywhere near as good as even BT3's. The beam attacks are way prettier sure, but a lot of them don't even have an impact shot so they feel like a wet fart. Feels like they also have less variations on animations of the ki supers hitting than RB. Also agreed, the costumes blow here.

Here's my take on the issues. 1. No back attack, meaning when some on vanishes behind you, you had the option to hold back and attack to counter. They do have that in Xenoverse 2, and it gave more variety than just simply vanishing in response. 2. They need to tighten up input response. It's just as much of an issue in standard setting without assists. Can't count how many times I would put in an input, only to have to do it twice, which slows up my flow. 3, I personally have no issues with the destruction. In fact I wish it was more destructive like the the show. 4. Characters need more variety in move sets. We should at least be able to choose what specials we want. Like Rebriana has a love arrow attack in DBS that's not in the game for example. 5. OP characters have way to much health. There should be a trade off for using these characters which otherwise attract the most garbage players. I would imagine Ranked is nothing but UI Gokus and SSF4 Gogetas. No point in having 100+ characters to only see 2 of them. So I just stick to regular matches because ranked doesn't mean much if thats what it boils down to. 6. Could have been creative with the quick time events in fights. The hold spin around the characters as they clash is played out at this point. Could have went with something like where the characters high clash while causing destruction or something.

I agree with everything except number 5. The game isn’t meant to be balanced. Some characters have more health bars, some have higher defense. The trade off is a higher dp score. Those top tier characters take up over half your team alone. 4 characters with 3 health bars can easily beat 1 character with 4 health bars. Thats a skill issue.

One nitpick I have, is that Jirens full power transformation is utterly garbage. It's low quality and false completely flat. I'd love for them to fix that soon. There's a couple transformations that are pretty lame but Jirens is especially awful.

I agree 100% on the controls issue. This is the first time i’ve played a BT3 type dragonball game since I was a kid. I use classic and sometimes my controls just switch, or outright stop working. It’s so infuriating. Still love the game, I really enjoy the chaos of each matches honestly. People hiding in buildings or playing around the towers and structures as they are collapsing. I know it can be impossible to tell what’s happening at times (mainly because of the camera in my opinion), but being uncomfortable and the game being a little janky really takes me back to being that kid again. With dedication and patience (praying to dev team), I’m sure this game will age very well.

They made everything too easy to do imo. There’s no reason for super counters, z counters and perception moves to be this easy. I was a master at bt3 and could never do super counters on a consistent level at all. The fighting is extremely fast paced (a lil too fast imo) but flight is slow unless you home in. You were spot on with the combo chains not inputting that’s probably my biggest issue with the fighting other than that the UI of the game is terrible in the character selection and online battle sections. Love the game overall tho

TOO EASY? Nah, man, that's crazy. The game is insanely fast-paced, and doing super counters as well as dodging ultimate attacks that are unblockable is LITERALLY FRAME PERFECT. As someone who played BT3, I do feel Sparking Zero is easier because the controls are much better, in my opinion, and it's easier to find everything you can do in the game. But saying the game is too easy? No fucking way. I do agree with some of the stuff you say, though. The character select screen really needs some work, flight (if you're not homing in) is pretty slow, and sometimes the controls can be unresponsive.

The only effort went into the actual characters/graphics and the mechanics. Everything outside of that is just meh overall. Clearly unfinished. No recolors, very little outfits, lack of stages, bugs and just terrible UI design. The character picking roster literally looks like an alpha version. I still enjoy the game a lot, but it's obvious they didn't have time or resources to polish it before launch. That's what it looks like to me atleast. If they didn't ask a base price of 70 for this or 100 euro's if you get the deluxe edition I wouldn't critic it as harshly but they asked for a ludicrous amount of money for very little actual content. It's supposed to be casual but the most you can do as a pve player is custom battle for continues replayability. Outside of the fighting and the characters which are superb imo this game hasn't got much going for it right now. If more content is added that we don't have to pay for that would help. I know they are planning on milking the SZ playerbase with overexpensive dlc anyway.

I think the fact it explains all the controls because 4 all characters there are only 4 combos and the game has a system 2 create ur own combos. And i think the camera being jank when someone is above u can b fixed by using standard controls and using X and A to teleport or using the dash/ spacing to strategically place yourself where ur not at a disadvantage as the movement system has more thought put into it than you think. Honestly solid video. Im glad someone points out criticism for the game. Hell, i thought my controller was bugged whenever the game wouldn't allow me to specific actions like the sweep if the combo was too long. Dont get me wrong, i love the game and having a blast playing with friends and coworkers.

Thats my biggest downside of this game. I hate the combo system. Im so used to setting up combo into a blast specail but you literally have to stop mid combo to do it but thats after i pressed that button atleast 4 times.

A lack of fighting stages and lack of outfits is mostly my main complaint. I'm just getting bored with some of the stages already, They used to have a destroyed version of almost every map back in DBZ: BT 2&3. Im sure more content is coming but bandai has been god awful for dlc pricing over time since xenoverse 2

I'm awful at fighting games, but I loved BT3 growing up, so I picked this up for nostalgia's sake. There's a lot of little things that pile on that make it irritating at times. Notifications for rewards lingering too long, controls locking up, unable to turn off time limits for matches or picking characters. I think the thing most regularly annoying me are special moves taking lower priority. I'll be knocking a guy away multiple times, even if the ki button is held down. Or after you knock someone away, it takes a solid second just to follow up with a special. I just want to send out my Kamehameha before he can block all the damage again.

I dont agree that we need less destruction. Its one of my favorite aspects of the game. I do however agree with the controls. They just dont always seem to work. Something i wanna do the ultimate and just cant. I even stop doing everything and try to use ultimate but it doesnt work until i used a super charge up again and somehow than it does work. Also atter getting into sparking i wanna rush behind the opponent but istead the character is grabbing in the air while the opponent is on the other side of the map. Also when i transform the characters get stuck in a charging animations and i cant do anything for some time. I hope they already fixed it. I didnt have internet for the last 2 weeks because the construction workers hit the cable somewhere. So now i need to wait till the 31st for them to repair it

Another small thing is when you get hit with an *"Ultimate"* you are in search mode and it takes you days to find your opponent...this should only be a thing if someone uses *"Solar Flare"* on you, because in BT3. You actually had a search button and you find your opponent QUICK ! The amount of times some has hit me because I couldn't find them. I give the game a solid 9/10. It will be a 10 after they fix all these issues lbs. I also agree because this is from the greatest DB game franchise in history that people are overlooking issues because they are having too much fun. My problem is the controls randomly freak out and change randomly to standard when set to classic even when playing offline episode battles. Also the fact that the ai sometimes does certain actions that are not possible for a human at all. Like when I charge a punch or kick to send them flying away so i can charge ki and they recover instantly and start punching me again without getting sent back even an inch. Dealing with these two issues has seen me hitting retry over and over again due to not being able to send the ai away and also not being able to counter due to the controls changing mid fight every 10 seconds. Another example is when I do one perfect z vanish behind them after they try attacking me and they do the same but I can't do the next one due to the button for it changing.

I agree with all of your combat issues; I run into all of them. One problem is I think vanish should cost a skill point. It’s pretty dumb when it happens for like a min back and forth. Would make it to where you have to be strategic as to when you try and combo. Basically what the ninja storm games do with substitution jutsu

@@Grimpachi but you can rush in without any thought ALL the time because there is infinite vanishes. Like you’ll have someone dogged; they’ll have no ki, no skill points and I’ll catch them in the back and then they STILL get to vanish. That’s a big issue for me because there is no penalty for haphazardly comboing. I don’t like ninja storm that much anymore, but they got it right there. You had to bait the person into subbing and then when they have none, that’s when you go into action. And vice versa, you’d have to play mad defensively and actually use blocks when you’re out of vanishes. And this would also apply to the vanish attacks. I’m cool with it being another bar on the HUD start out with 5 and have then replenish over time/when to deal/take damage. Would make it more of a skill thing vs a thing people spam

My issues are lack of costumes and accessories as promised, but I know that’s coming. The bigger issues are the button lag issues on and offline and the UP square counter technique. It’s the only counter that just doesn’t hit as it should. I share all of the complaints of the poster. This is why there should’ve been a public demo/beta test. Hopefully everything is patched soon.

When I played any fighting games with my friends,sometimes we would invent scenerios and dialog. Like one friend would beat Goku with Frieza and I woukd have master roshi face Frieza . And then my friend would be all " how is a mere human so powerful, I'll have to show you my true power" I would respond as Roshi with " I have tapped into an ancient human technique that allows ....andit would go on and back and forth.

I'll say this. The game is great. It's challenging on the what-if scenarios. I don't like the online matches cause of the cheesing and rage quits. Storyline was good, but Vegetas story was really disappointing. I don't know why they didn't give him the Super treatment like gohan and goku. It's kinda weird.

I'm playing on Xbox Series S and the environmental destruction has been turned down a lot. If a character goes through something that can be destroyed, it just disappears with some smoke effects. It's terrible. I want all the crumbling and stuff to make it more immersive. Also another complaint is I've never been able to blow up any planet or have that cut scene trigger at all. I've gotten the world tournament one to trigger but honestly it's animation has been turned down as well. Not sure if this happens on series X models but as of right now the series S is the wrong way to play Sparking Zero in my opinion.

Honestly I play only custom battles and player matches this is still the greatest dragon Ball Z game of all time in my opinion even with all of its issues that I have all I care about is gameplay if we're talking about story mode I honestly don't really care personally it's not something that bothers me at all actually to me it's the best storyline in all of the games because it's not a sloth to get through but that's just my opinion. online has a lot of problems but I feel like if you put raging Blast 2 in this day and age if you were to put Tenkaichi 3 in my opinion people will still be complaining so this is honestly like the problem of specific gamers who only like to play online I love fighting the op ai in custom battles having freedom over difficulty and story/set up has never been really done well in a DBZ game don't get me wrong I have my own criticisms most of it is customization outfits and auras and online

Sparking mode is an absolute terrible feature for me in this game and its biggest problem. I wonder who at Bandai thought a way to do nearly 2 bars worth of damage was a good idea. Ranked online is basically who gets their sparking first

Customization and movesets are sorely lacking, and some balance adjustments were not considered like bans in ranked. I think most players like myself are ignoring this because the game is so faithful to Tenkaichi, and It's clear from a business perspective they rushed this game out due to Akira's death and Daima release. It lacks polish, but looking at Fighterz, Breakers and Xenoverse support and the record breaking sales for this game I'm not too worried

Playing online is a freaking nightmare. I like this game and I'm actually pretty good a video games but every time I play online I get bodied. They could be using the weakest characters in the game and I'm using the strongest and they still beat me. The level of competition in this game is insane. It seems like all online games now are just sweaty as hell. Its annoying.

This game is weird. It’s hard to play but it’s really spammy. You get into a rush chain and just spam whatever counter you hope will work, then you fly away and go sparking and then dragon dash into ultimate. There are hella bugs in this game. All the characters look weird. It’s not that great.
