Folks this is legendary potential we are looking at.

I mean, they were smiling BEFORE Paragus was killed. Once Frieza killed him and Broly turned SSJ, Goku became serious af. To think in the span of just a little over 25 minutes, Broly went from getting pressed by BASE Vegeta (post TOP) to literally being able to throw hands and overpower a transformed gogeta (LSSJ vs SSJ) is crazy, and even then, when gogeta went blue broly STILL kept getting back up like it was nothing. Now of course, He couldn't do jack SHIT once he did in fact go blue but still. For a first REAL battle this growth in this timeframe eclipses even Gohan and freiza.

​@@Zachebi It felt like it's a reference to the fact that the supersaiyan transformation is linked to the legendary/ berserk super saiyan form. As if regular saiyan transformations pass through the same channels of energy and evolution but goes one way to achieve the super saiyan form we are familiar with. Yet the legendary form takes its own energy/evolution path to end up at its end goal. So like think of it as a water way with branching paths that end up at different points. All resulting in a water ways with stronger currents as they go through different paths. At least that's my head cannon. Mostly it's that line about broly channeling the form of the great ape but not transforming that leads me to this thought process. Well that and the green on vegeta or goku feels and looks like they are kind of tapping into the same kind of power as broly but either their bodies can't handle it so it refines it into something they (other super saiyans) can use (and broly by extention can use the full raw potential of the energy they are tapping into) or something like the energy broly taps into is just a freak evolutionary path that all saiyans have but only a few are born able to access it.

⁠@@Tahu33446 I have a different take that’s also just my head canon, but I think that that flash of green is evidence that of a similar evolution during the fight where we’re reminded that Brody isn’t the only one capable of growing and learning as they fight. Throughout the battle we see numerous techniques and maneuvers that have never been done before, which only began to appear after fighting broly and witnessing the strange uses of ki blasts and dimension warps and tears that seem to alter reality with their insane bursts of power. Gogeta especially seems to streamline his energy instead of wide beams they are thin and dense as opposed to wide. If you notice the ki even seems to evolve it’s color similar to the different Saiyan transformations. His early kamehameha were mostly white throughout with the outer edges a very light blue, after become super saiyain, the interior was white with a yellow outline, kaioken style with red added, red and blue transformations the beam becomes bluer but it is still on the lighter side, ultra instinct we start to see the color becoming a much deeper blue, and here we see the beams as dark blue before they reach the form of the ki ball he condenses and shoots at his Broly’s back which is so dense that we see the color that seems like it wants to be black but the power is so intense that it almost starts to break reality down and we see a shifting hue of color that can’t decide what it wants to be. Basically that flash of green showed that Broly wasn’t the only one evolving during this fight and I think that makes the whole fight that much cooler. At least that’s what is in my head canon lol

The fact it took Gogeta Blue to knock Broly out of his rage is insane. Broly at the end there was basically fully aware that he was going to die after losing his father, and unable to avenge him. Basically his whole life's goal (given to him by said father) just went up in flames. Whole life crashing down around him in 1 day, the very first time he ever met other saiyans. Crazy that he pushed Goku and Vegeta that far though.

I feel really bad for Broly, he was treated like an animal by his own father, all because he couldn't control the power he had in him and such. In which, my opinion, tragic villains are always the best as they weren't bad to begin with, just made that way by the influence of others. So I hope that if we see more of Broly, he is doing better for himself.

What never gets old for me in this movie is just how much Gogeta Blue outclassed Broly during their skirmish. Broly held out against Regular and was able to match blows with SSJ, but once Gogeta went blue, and Broly arguably was at the strongest he could possibly get without getting burnt up, he still could not land a hit against him anymore. No wonder Whis was so happy to see gogeta

I love the smirk vegeta gives when broly initiates the fight with him, like he knows it’s a fresh twist that he gets to open up the fight and whoop some serious ass for a bit. Likewise when Goku gets involved and gives us the classic show we all see coming of him serving out serious hands but ends up getting completely humiliated by the pure force that is broly. I love Z Broly by a mile, but Super Broly is just as much of a complete power house and threat and is a phenomenal reentry to the universe.

Broly tapping into SS4 giving us a glimpse of it with the eye change. Long debated how the transformation should be reintroduced, I think that's the better way. Scrap the mismatched red fur, (tail optional) but the eyes and growth of their hair. Feral to the Saiyans' nature while hitting untapped potential. Primal if you will.
