With combos, some are free, others cost energy. In "Master" version of game (only paper), +5000 are usually free, 10k cost 1. It is on left side of cards.

Remmeber your combo got to be a power that relates your combo but you need to always remember that your attack power needs to be a combo.

looks like they mashed all the tutorials together on a single match. It's like yu gi oh trying to teach all summoning mechanics (fusion, ritual, synchro, xyz, pendulum and links) on the same duel . It simply doesn't work.
