Really interested in the game but I've been spoiled by the art of the One Piece TCG. Super Masters and now Fusion World using the blandest stock anime/promotional art is insane to me with the almost 4 decade history of Dragon Ball Z. Are the alt art cards cool? Do they use Toriyama manga art?

Alt arts haven't been revealed yet but the Super Rares definitely seem to be original art.

Look up the release sets for the One Piece Tcg. Namco Bandai always does this. They skimp on the art at the game's release to make it easier, then jnvest more in it once the game proves a success.

Almost none of the cards are stock art (there are a few cards that are indeed screenshots). They are new art in the style of Dragon Ball Super that happen to match iconic moments and poses.

This might be a stupid question but why would you have to buy two starters ?

In starter decks, some cards only have 2 copies ( usually the good ones ) and they aren’t obtainable otherwise. So, if you want a playset/4 copies of some of the cards you’d need to buy 2 starter decks.
