He refuses to tell him because he remembers the last time he told an enemy about the Dragon Balls, two Saiyans overheard and came to Earth a year later. I didn't care much for it because it was your classic toriyama handjob powerup. You also have to remember that all the movies are non canon except for the Bardock movie. Recently the events of the Bardock movie were canonized by the last arc of the manga where Goku learned about his father and surprisingly Vegeta knew about Goku's father this entire time.

I actually thought they were going to go the Radditz route BEFORE he took the Special Beam Cannon pose. Because i thought Gohan was gonna throw the kamehameha at Cell Max and end up taking Piccolo with him. But with the Cannon, it's much more precise and accurate of a shot...so I thought it was not only an awesome callback, but a brilliant move to pinpoint the weakspot while sparing Piccolo's life.

Saw this earlier tonight, absolutely loved it. Loved hearing how hyped the whole theater was throughout the movie. Gohan and Piccolo getting the spotlight they deserved felt great, and Pan was just a show stealer too. After credits scene was both hilarious and somehow satisfying

Super Hero is the most unapologetically *fun* the franchise has been in ages. Piccolo's transformation is basically a "I like you so I gave you more than you actually wished for" by Shenron - which ironically makes it one of the most justified random new forms of the Super era. And they handled the secondary characters really well: Pan is in no way a damsel in distress and for the entire movie, she's in on Piccolo's plan to "snap your papa out of his bullshit". She even gets to one-shot a Red Ribbon goon trying to kidnap her, doing her best Bobby Hill impression, going "I don't know you!" Krillin finally does some actual damage with his Destructo Disc, offering valuable assistance for the killing blow on Cell Max. Goten & Trunks get to grow up (!) and do stuff, bringing back the idea of failed fusions. Videl gets to be an actual character again too, teaching martial arts classes and wearing the pants in their relationship. They managed to also hit the balance between giving other characters a spotlight and not forgetting about Goku & Vegeta. The justification for their absence from the main plot made enough sense (and honestly, Whis probably noticed but ignored it to give the other characters a time to shine). The duo still gets enough screen time to not break out of the formula too much and Vegeta even gets to take another step in his character arc, finally beating Goku in a fair fight. And it's small character details that wrap this movie up so nicely. There's Karmin's presentation slides, Hedo's "heroic" antics being so over the top he ends up wrapping around to being a villain again, Piccolo's plushy collection being "payment" for favors because he pretended to like the one Pan gave him once, Pan's teacher flat out accepting Piccolo's explanation for the kidnapping attempt as "training for the granddaughter of the famous Mr. Satan", Bulma's and Piccolo's reaction when they realized they missed the obvious solution, Piccolo being the smart one and infiltrating the Red Ribbon base to gather intel first, Gohan's casual "Goku & Vegeta will fix like always" attitude, Piccolo's new form being named like that because "why does it need a name? Fine... It's orange, so 'Orange Piccolo'... You happy now?"... The DB formula had gotten a bit stale lately - but if this is what the future holds for the franchise, I'm all for it!

I love how Piccolo continues to remain relevant and after having rewatched DBZ Kai it's great to see all the character development as well from beginning of DBZ to DBS Super Hero. Insane, and I flipped when I seen the Gohan transformation lol.

I would say Vegeta isn't stronger exactly. I think he just tweeked some of his fundamental ways of fighting. Something like that can make a difference especially against someone who is use to you fighting a certain way for years, like say Goku.

The real reason Piccolo’s arms are now retconned to be yellow is because this universe is manga colours. In the original manga, Piccolo had yellow arms and Bulma had purple hair etc. with Shueisha/Jump in charge theyre putting in classic manga Easter eggs for the die hard Toriyama fans.

I loved it too, I just wished there was more tension for Gohan to turn into his new form. I wish Cell would have been more diabolical and put more pressure on everyone. Instead of a senseless monster, imaging this! Gohan Attacks cell. Cell grabs Gohan by the head and. Punches him repeatedly making Gohan lose Consciousness, pan gets angry and finally flies attacking cell. Cell throws Gohan and. Grabs pan and begins to crush her. Every one is down for the count and piccolo tells Gohan to unleash his true potential or else risk having pan die pan then screams as we hear her bones crack Gohan then suddenly snaps all we see are his red eyes and an explosion cells arm was just cut and flying in the air is Gohan with pan he hands pan to bulma where gohan now in a rage of furry powers up making the earth rumble and his power increasing so much that goku has to stop mid-fight and say that he feels something familiar more on earth as he smiles we then cut back to Gohan as he begins to fight cell for the climax of the movie!

No, Piccolo's different color scheme with his arms and outfit aren't due to his age. It's a design choice that is meant to be more faithful to the manga's version. It's also why Freeza in DBS Broly, while in his 1st form, was pinkish.
