@DP91 if you like one dimensional characters who don't grow or change through the course of the story, I guess that's fine, but don't try and be a prick when people ask for something more. I just think the majority of people would rather have an antagonist that's more interesting than "Big guy who can punch really hard" Characters like jiren and broly will never hold a candle to the likes of Frieza or Cell. There's nothing going on below the surface with Jiren. He's just a really strong guy who Goku has to punch really hard. It's just boring. While the fight scenes are a spectacle to watch, when Jiren isn't fighting our protagonists, he's just a boring character.

If there's one thing I respected Jiren for as a character, is keeping his mouth shut and just focusing on the job. Of course, there is some ocassional shit-talk coming from him, but it's far less frequent than, say, Vegeta or Goku. When others try to intimidate him, he's silent. He doesn't make remarks. He doesn't make any oohs or aahs. He's there to silently demonstrate to you that you're helpless against the power he's built up for himself.

Time abilities in Dragon Ball are dependant on the user's ki presence. Toriyama said this once in an interview, not sure which one but he did. Both Jiren and Goku in SSJGSSJ Kx10 were able to move trough Hit's time related abilities. Goku was unable to do this when he was lower in power.
