There are many ways goku and vegeta can counter shadic from winning. Like fuse into vegito or gogeta gogeta would seem the obvious choice since potara needs the earrings. The second reason is to have another rematch with them full powered goku and vegeta at ultra instinct (goku) and super sayian blue evolution (vegeta) against hyper sonic and hyper shadow.
