I hoped for years. I hoped through every DLC. I hoped even when the producer sat in front of a camera talking about issues. I hoped when I read patch notes about moves being "fixed" that Deion and I talked about. I hoped with every attempts to improve the game, but then we always end up in the same spot :/ which sucks cuz as Deion said, I also LOOOOVE this game, but I hate this game.

Well, there’s that one Seereax uses. You interrupt your Y (Triangle) combo with an X (Square), and you’ll snap behind them, free to break their stamina. There’s another that doesn’t work super consistently, but is still Frieza Race exclusive, where you do a knockback and then hit them from the front and stamina break, but it needs to be quick.

Honestly, my view on this game has always been that it suffers from the "good enough" plague that seems to be rife in the game industry atm. Like, let's take the mentor customization feature. No one asked for it, no one saw it coming, and it was an amazing addition. Until you realized that most of the characters don't have anything interesting or fun you can do with them, and customizing them cripples their stats. Unless they've got Health Type A, or a couple of other specific Stat types. The entire thing reeks of them having gone all in on a couple of characters, and then gone "Yeah, good enough, let's just fill in the rest quickly." Then let's look at the infinite history, and their alternate paths. Oh, what's that? EVERY single variant has the SAME Jaco, Whis and Beerus missions? Oh, and we'll throw Hercule in on top of that? I mean, yeah, I'm sure that's fine. Who wanted a path where Future Gohan meets Tapion, right? I want to clarify that both of these additions were amazing IDEAS. But when you're grinding out the infinite history missions, and you clock on to the fact that you've gotten the exact same dialogue for these "alternate paths" 9 times in a row, you get a strong feeling that they just went "Ahhhh, good enough."

My favorite part of xenoverse is customizing and creating my own character within the Dragon Ball universe. I'm not too into the fighting game genre but I *love* the Dragon Ball world and all of its lore and characters, so that's why I put up with the game for as long as I did.

So I'm not gonna lie I don't regularly play Xenoverse online like a lot of people the only times I do play online are when I'm playing with friends who live in the same city as me and we play at the local LAN center to reduce any amount of lag we would normally experience. I took the complaints about the netcode in XV2 with a grain of salt especially if its compared to FighterZ mostly due to how the communities are, in FighterZ for example especially at higher levels you are going to see most people using wired connections on good internet thats just the type of people who play online 2D fighters are, most would rather ignore online all together if they don't have a good connection rather then braving the online with lag reducing the overall number of players with bad connections. The difference being regardless of ranked on XV2 a lot of people are playing on wireless in the states particularly the US being such a big location especially the east and west coast separation makes online play even in the same country a huge hassle with a wired connection let alone a wireless one. I also am a little weary of this communities opinions since for example I heavily disagree with the giant hate boner it has for Ki Blast Canceling. Anyway I decided to see for myself and played about 100 regular online games and holy shit everyone is right this game has one of the worst netcodes I have ever experienced in my life its average seems to be the equivalent of something like Dark Souls at its absolute worst. I only have a vague understanding why its like this but the players seem to be playing in separate fucking dimensions at separate times, it feels like the game makes no attempt to put the players on even footing and just loads frames in mindlessly leading to a game that feels like its being played 2 seconds apart by each player Wild AF

I may be no youtuber but I will always enjoy a GOOD match. Thats too hard to come by in this damn game. Like people tell me, hey you should play with SeeReax but knowing if I ever did play with you, some netcode is gonna happen. Like the only thing I hate in this game is the netcode. The only thing in this game that holds it back is netcode. I have taken programming and networking courses. Going back to two year old code and trying to fix it and release it to the masses is NOT easy. Connection problems take debugging on servers. Not just one. Its not that easy. I know that. I wish to become a game programmer and knowing but development teams go through, I can understand that. That code and network specifications is not easy. Nor is it quick. Truly SeeReax, I feel you about this game but I will play this game until it's death. From the open beta to the Release of Xenoverse 3/Death, I will continue to play this game fair and have fun. And besides when you fight a good opponent in this game, it is nice! If you ever wish to play me in xenoverse 2, I always will go. I don't care about popularity. I wanna play you because I love your content.

I try my hardest to play fair, no matter what. But when you're faced with cheese and spam, cheese and spam, cheese and spam, over and over and over again, it gets so degrading that I just can't play the game anymore. I can't play offline, because the missions are either too tedious or too easy for me to actually have fun. I pre-ordered this game and played it almost every day, and didn't grow tired of it, until i played online. Sure it was good for a while , but a month ago I just didn't have the energy to pick that disc up again.

I've played this game since day 1. I still do. I've played some really bad matches online and I have played some incredible matches online. That's what keeps me going. The incredible matches. Its uncommon but when you can find that one other player that has a good connection, and doesn't exploit any cheap tactics like unvanishable stamina breaks, infinite combos, ki blast cancels, guard cancels or doesn't use any cheap moves like fake death or doesn't abuse cheap super souls or doesn't abuse the horrible limit burst system. When you find a player that doesn't abuse bullshit, this game can be very fun online. But because of all things I just mentioned(especially the limit burst I just played the other day and lost bunch of matches that I should of won just because of that, there should be a option to turn limit burst off when you create a without limitations lobby) finding that one player can be hard. Dimps/Bandi Namco need to take a step back and look at what they created. Then they need to focus on fixing things first before adding new things. If they take there time doing that then this game can be a masterpiece.

This hits home. I was the only one on my friend's circle (friends not on the internet) that played xv2 a lot. The netcode was unbearable to play. Fighterz for me is one of the few dragon ball games I play. Went from noob to at least keeping up with pro fighterz players. And a game determine by how much you trained. Plus I can blame myself when combos drop and not net code (unless framerates were on some high levels of cocaine that day). Xv2 mods I rather play that since people themselves put more content that is better than the vanilla game! Even fixed some issues of some moves! But yeah I just want the vanilla xv2 to he better than what dimps said they do. Only time I'll play it is with friends i made from the game. I can thank the game for that, meeting great friends amd youtubers like you

At this point, the only thing XV2 did for me that is really appealing was allow me to have my characters go do offline quests and matches together. Other than that, it's just me going in to collect my daily login bonus, and maybe do a bit of grinding for TP medals to fill out my figure collection, and that's really about it.

Imagine it being 2 years later, they added multiple new 'dlc' with 'extra moves, items and characters' (which are locked behind a paywall, even if you supported the game since it was released and bought the 'ultimate version' or whatever), and all those issues.. are still issues that are there. Why Dimps and Bandai can't fix it? Why can't they turn down their lazyness and greed, just a bit? Why, is it so hard to make something cool happen? Even it XV3 ever comes out, and possibly has some solutions to those problems... I won't be able to get excited. And I don't want to, and won't, pay triple of what I already paid for XV1 and XV2(and a bunch of 'DLC' for it...), to just have a somewhat of a working/improved Xenoverse game, to have something that I'm supposed to have already, since products are supposed to work and work properly... but they don't, not in case of XV1, XV2, and many other products that certain companies sell... for big money, in mass scale...

An improved net code along with other subtle things like changing your aura etc. should be a given!!! Also inherit more mechanics from tenkaichi. Like the capsule concept, instead of the clothes having stats you have to actually use the random capsules items you get after missions from xv to make like an attack up 2 or like defense up 1, at the spot where bulma is...also a team vs aspect Like in tenkaichi where you can have a team of up to 5 chars and can swap during the fight

Eazy Legend This mans entire channel was based on this game at one point, and the game is really not that great. Netcode was the biggest issue until after the game pretty much died, and the entirety of the xenoverse community in ranked at least is completely cancerous. It’s very easy to get mad at a game, especially when you’ve put over a year and money into the game just to be treated by cheapness and toxcicity, along with bad net code. It’s not being ungrateful, it’s being disappointed in the game.

No, people just want the game to be better. We are grateful there are just a few gameplay things that mess it up. For example when I play with friends there are times when we do multiple attacks on each other and our hits just don't register. (Yes we have a pretty good connection)

I’m honestly at that point, I may just start playing FighterZ or moving to other games and it saddens me to do so but the main issue is the netcode the cheap players aren’t even an issue anymore for me the netcode is the biggest problem in Xenoverse 2. I will always enjoy this game and I think it’s still the BEST dragon ball game we have ever received but the developers need to actually deal with the netcode problem like seriously they don’t realize how many people have stopped playing this game because of it.

im seeing alot of comments talking about this game and wanted to put my share into the mix (even though it wont matter) Xenoverse like you said has so much potential to be an amazing game and yet the devs drop the ball on it so often, every point you brought in was so great especially the sayian combo that i've been trying to get off since the beginning of the game. I enjoyed watching your xenoverse videos and thats what made me find your channel. Actually, I just wanna say that the infamous"Netcode" change was supposed to be released with dlc 8. Not 7. For dlc 7 they basically just made atk balances and what not. But I heard that the official release for the netcode change would be with dlc 8.

I’m with you Seereax, I love the game too but it just has so many issues that I can’t really enjoy the game anymore, Dimps should really focus more on the net code rather than the money making dlcs, what makes it worse is that the fact that the net code hasn’t shown the slightest change has driven a lot of people away from the game to take a break, and I completely understand non the less, I understand why people are moving on. If anything, we can’t blame ourselves, we should blame the game developers themselves for being lazy, lying to our faces, and ignoring us. We tried our best, especially you Dion, you sent them a huge list of the issues the game has had since day one and you talked to them yourself, it’s their fault all together and it’s up to them to choose whether or not their going to do something about the games issues. Anyways good video Seereax and I hope the game developers see this somehow along with any other videos that will help them see that they really need to fix the netcode and everything else to bring out the games full potential. Honestly an on going issue is that the dlc's aren't giving enough content outside of characters and moves, Like give us more story or something LITERALLY anything, I don't play this game anymore not because of it being bad it's just cause i have literally done everything and im bored because there's nothing new to do, like I'll play a good few online matches with the new characters realize wow this is fun can't wait till the nerf this attack, then I'll get bored and I won't touch the game till the next dlc drop

If you wouldve showed clips of the square combo I woulda lost it, but the aspect of it hits the point either way. Because it's true AF, and when you brought up UK Xenoverse players I thought of mainly Burcol thats on mainly PS4 and sometimes on Xbox, Steedoj on mainly Xbox but sometimes on PS4, and of course Reflux on PC and many more. There's alot of UK players that has good content with as well ways of tearing DEM ASSES but the connection as you stated mainly needs help. On a brief example when I had internet, everyday I played xenoverse 2. With my friend for him it's a 2 bar connection and for me as well, but the game play is A1 💯👌 af perfect not a sight of lag, every now and then a blimp but it shrugs off with intense fighting and we work around it. But OML I can do 1 hour or more of gameplay and I would be bored af. Imagine on Xenoverse 1 with the saiyan unlimited combo (I may have cheesed with from time too time as well with the Frieza's race) the saiyan race was practically the only race to go too because of the transformations. But do you remember the Z ultimates it was the aspect of ING gods to give you dat extra boost of damage. And here we are with new moves and still more ki ultimates than strike BUT as well new strike ultimates as well. N E W strike and ki attacks, a larger variety of SO M A N Y moVes it's insane. But too bad the netcode doesn't show how good they can be it's saddens how fast you can be bored with a next gen dragon ball game that can be made into something more, and I'm really having some high hopes for it too be fixed later on

Listen, I’ll be honest. I have hated on Dimps and Bandai but that was mostly or ALL on the fact that they said they would fix the netcode, and they didn’t. Also, if they aren’t going to fix it then at least announce it or announce that it will come in the next DLC at least but they keep leaving us in the dark. I hate them for doing this , but I’m not jumping on the “Bandai sucks my cheeks on a stick” bandwagon because I have my reasons along with evidence on what I think. Other than that, you’re completely right because you should be able to have fun on ranked with randoms in every Online Game, but we have people spamming, cheesing, and lag switching. They ruin the community and it makes me feel like I want to spread their ass cheeks with my bowerful chop sticks.

I still really enjoy the game, if it was perfect it would be the best Dragon Ball games to date. I still play this game on a daily basis. I enjoy it when i am playing with friends. I still cringe though just like you said, apparently their netcode fix was the fixing skills, but all they did was now make beam supers stay there after someone fires it. This game had a special place in my heart and i still enjoy it, but i can pretty much only play with friends. Thank you for being such a defender of the game. I pray someday it works as we all dream it will.
