Pain Maki I played the network test. Based off that alone, it was fun enough to convince me to buy it. This game is good, I think it's a little better than budokai 3 in many aspects. However, Rhymestyle and Toastie's hype for this game has been unnecessary and outright dishonest most of the time, and that's really annoying. They have told blatant lies about this game to convince people to play it. A DBZ game doesn't need hype because there is only ONE audience that is going to buy it. Many people in that audience are going to buy it just because DBZ is on the cover. The DBZ audience doesn't need convincing, and you're not going to convince people who aren't already fans. So it is unfair to outright lie to fans about things like "every character being 100% unique". Fans know what they are getting into. Budokai 3, BT3, and Raging Blast 2 are all hights of the series, and they ALL commit the same sin as this game. They all have copy and paste combos, and they all have too many characters with the same ultimate moves. However, while that is a negative about the series, it hasn't stopped me or anyone else from enjoying those games. This game is on par with the 3 I just mentioned. The game is still fun and worth playing. All I'm saying is, don't fucking lie about what the game is.

They are all right but they could have been a little bigger with a little bigger looking explosions. They should have made ultimates like lift rocks into the air for the little time you are doing them or like show signs of something happening like the area gets darker for a little while or something to show that the ultimate is serious shyt.

There were so many characters that could have used better ultimates than the ki spam/kamehamehas. Super Saiyan God Goku... Give me a break. Fat Buu? He could've had his Angry Explosion. Plenty of others too. I hope they do a better job on Xenoverse too if there is one.

they really did not spend to much effort on variation if you ask me, I still remember in old tenkaichi games where freeza would use a death ball (create with 1 finger) in first form, then use "destroy this planet" (small death ball created with both hands) and "you will die by my hand" in his 100% form (huge energy beam shot with one hand that can explode the field) here he just shamelessly uses the same one finger animation death ball in every form and cell even recycles it. And for kami's sake! so much scatter shots.

That's because not everyone is necessarily "blown away" by specials in this game. For example, if a level 2 does their best move on a level 50, it would be damn weird for the level 50 to appear blown away lol. Plus, that little blown away scene, although cool, slows down the fight, even if by a little. They made a point to keep the game constant with no cinematics to feel like a true fighter.

The energy volley barrage on most characters is pretty annoying and tbh I don't mind a lot of people having the Kamehameha because it's pretty much like that in BT3 too, for the most part those people that have a Kamehameha also has a unique ultimate as well so I really don't see why people are complaining, for some reason I like the Spirit Bomb in this game.

From the hype it gained, probably. Hopefully Dimps will learn from the mistakes of what has been a pretty good game it seems to build a better one next time. In Xenoverse as it is I more see the potential for a great game later on (maybe the third installment, if previous DBZ games are to go by) rather than a perfect game from the get to.

Since no one else will say it, I guess I will....... This game is BAD. I could go on for hours about why it's a fail but I'll just point out a few things that stuck out to me. 1. Production ( Menus, music, and end battle animations ) - from the beginning I knew this game would be mediocre. Why are the menus set up the way they are? They look as if they were half-assed. B3 had way more illustrative and colorful menus. The game starts off like an arcade game. And the music is terrible. What happened to the epic music we once had in titles like B3 and BT3? They were way better than this shit. How come after you defeat an opponent the game goes into this arcade style animation and a screen pops up, instead of a full on finishing animation differenciating the character? 2. Gameplay - First off, why does different costumes assign different movesets? Movesets should be based off your personal set up and not a costume. Why are super saiyan and super saiyan 2, for example, two different ultimate slots? Shouldn't super saiyan 2 just replace super saiyan once you've already transformed once? I think that is so stupid. Why is every kamehameha and super saiyan transformation animation the same? Didn't each character add their own flare to things before? Why are the ultimate attacks so dull? I think the decision to exclude cut scenes and cinematics in the ultimates was a dumb decision. Those are what made past games so epic....... Why is ki blast barrage still a special move or ultimate? Every character should be able to do this with this a press of a button, just like the anime. (Holding down O/B for an extended period of time for example). Why isn't environmental damage permanent? How are we in 2015 amd still can't get a DBZ game with permanent damage environmentally? IMO, B3 and Ultimate Tenkaichi had the best environmental damage elements. How come once you transform into SSJ2 or SSJ3 you do not see any lightining flowing from their aura? Why isn't there just a regular dash button, like BT-3 instead of a super flight dash? This causes problems with targeting and you often pass your character. Why is energy charge an option? This should be another thing that every character has the ability to do. 3. Miscellaneous - Why is Cell's aura green in the game? Doesn't he have cells of the saiyans which would make his aura to be yellow/gold? Why does Super 17 have an aura? He is still an android and should not have one. Why are worthless characters in the game when there are so many others that could/should be in the game such as Cooler, Supreme Kai, Dabura, Pikkon, Majin Vegeta and etc? Why don't we have a Super Vegeta and USSJ Trunks form in the game? Were these not important contributions to the Cell Saga? Where are Cell's other 2 forms? Why is there no base form for Teen Gohan? Why is it that you are allowed to do a Father-Son Kamehameha while only in SSJ Teen Gohan form? Wasn't that particular Kamehameha a SSJ2 kinda thing? SMH. Why does Trunks do the kamehameha in this game? I understand it would be easy for Trunks to learn that technique, but after seeing kamehameha so many times already, it wouldn't hurt to mix it up for Trunks would it? (Big Tree Canon???).......................... These are some of the things that I have noticee about this game that have been bothering me since I first learned of them. If Dimps gets the chance to make a sequel to this game, I pray they will fix everything and hopefully take notes from my long rant of complaints. I feel as tho Dimps spent too much time on the character creation/story/online aspect of the game and got lazy with mostly everything else. Why does DBXZ feel as though it has backtracked from previous dbz titles, besides the online and character creation? Please help me get this comment out ao that it may reach the masses!

I still like the specials in Budokai 3. All the characters had unique specials with dynamic camera angles instead of animation rehash we see in here. These long specials were cut from PSP DBZ series from what I believe...which is a shame. All the specials here are way too short.

One thing I wish was in this game, and it's just my opinion, was the ultimate attacks they had in Ultimate Tenkaichi (Yes I know that game is bad). The game must fail in most aspects but when you used an ultimate attack it felt... like an ultimate attack. You literally blow up a section of the planet and the entire map is terra formed. However in this, even the spirit bomb, which has been shown is capable of destroying entire planets multiple times, makes a small impact then dissipates. I'm not saying the game is bad, I just wish the ultimate attacks looked more powerful

.... YOU HAD ONE JOB, DIMPS! ONE JOB! If their going to have them throwing energy balls madly.... at least have the characters do it uniquely in different motions. Slacking at its finest here. I don't want to even get started on the bland instant transformations. No expressions save Vegeta's but his is the same with each transformation. I could tell when Goku was going SSJ3 in BT3 whenever he was powering up for it. Here... Goku does the same chest pump 3 times, Instant transformation. And why are destructible environments re-fixing themselves. If I destroy it, I want it to stay that way.

I was exaggerating a bit yeah, I meant a majority of the characters shown. It's like how in Tenkaichi when more than half of the roster had "Full Power Energy Wave" or "Full Power Energy Blast Volley". It's easily something I can get over though.
