Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama. Thank you for all the wonders, adventures, memories, and most of all, the joy you have brought the world. Your work opened the door and expose many people to the wonderful world of manga and anime and whether intentional or not, you were a gateway into Japanese culture for many. "Work hard, study well, and eat and sleep plenty. That is the turtle hermit way." - Akira Toriyama

PS - Fitting tribute my friend. Couldn't think of a better song to pay respects to the man.

I agree and respect this comment. However, you forgot that 'play' is also part of the Kame way. Roshi's style is all about living life to the fullest and not to take things too seriously.

RIP. He might have said that but if I had to guess, most probably the cause of his dead was from overworking and not that well sleeping and it is surely a heavy toll for anybody at the age of 68 when you have less forgiving old organs and body functions. We know the new "Dragon Ball DAIMA" series was on the way and planned to release in fall season 2024. So I believe he was working really hard for that.

Being a big part of my childhood, it was losing a parent, I cried for 3 days? Still on occassion. I wish I met him. Hugged him, told him how much my world changed because of him. I love you, Toriyama

A worthy tribute of the legend himself, Akira Toriyama. The industry and culture we live in today wouldn't be the same without that man. You really knocked it out of the park with this cover of the classic, and big thanks for doing it.

I've been such a huge fan of Akira Toriyama and his work for decades now, not just all of the Dragon Ball stuff but also his work on Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger, among others. Losing him so unexpectedly was like getting run over by a truck and I'm still in shock. But this song is great and I think he would have really liked it. I know I do. Thank you for this wonderful tribute and stay safe out there.

What a suprise! I used to watch a lot of Dragon Ball on my childhood... I was lucky they had such an amazing dubbing for my country. And like we say here... "Sigale así mijo!" 10/10 cover

This is a really nice cover, missed your takes on various dragon ball songs Vincent! Though, I have to ask - is the thumbnail to this video AI-generated? The image just looks kind of off to me. If it is AI generated though, it may be worth changing it to either fanart drawn by another dragon ball fan, or one of the many official renders/illustrations of Goku and Gohan riding on the flying nimbus. I personally feel like having anything related to g-AI wouldn't be the best thing to include in a video intended to be a tribute to such an influential artist and mangaka.

Thanks for your comment! I've included the Deviantart link for the thumbnail artist. Doesn't feel AI generated to me but I could be wrong!

@@HaarasNC Just checked out their page, it's not generated - the art was published back in 2016! Thx so much for including the artists' DA link as well!
