Meet the real-life Trunks of hit 90’s TV show Dragon Ball Z, who is transforming inside and out to become his idol. Julian Louw, a stunt actor and professional dancer, was first introduced to the popular Japanese anime series when he was teenager and admits that he fell in love with the character of Trunks, connecting to him on a personal level. Three years ago Louw made the decision to embark on a ‘character development project’ to become the real-life Trunks after strangers told him that he resembled the fictional character, but to become a living version would be impossible.

We saw him go through the changes and the routines he did daily to become his idol. Honestly, he's doing what he loves. And the fact that we're so amused by him, is why we're all here. He's not harming anyone, by slicing them into half like Trunks does with his sword. He can differentiate between fiction and reality. This is just cosplaying at it's finest. To those of you criticising him, he probably is richer, healthier and more broad minded than you are. To be able to stick to your passion, despite the opposition from the society, is a very difficult task. Ps: I feel the same way for Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho. One fine day, I might just colour my hair red and by some decent costume to reassemble one of my favourite characters.

Why would he not be a well adjusted person because of dressing like that character? I don't think he's just trying to replicate only the visual aspect of the character, Trunks has a good story, attitude, and a noble heart. It's not a bad character to admire. Besides, i don't think he is trying to be Trunks the whole time. He admires him, but it's not like he goes everywhere trying to kill some androids or trying to become a real super saiyan xD

I have agree with you in that. Building a true own self and forming our own way to be is important. But are we not always using somebody as an example to build our own self? Somebody that can inspire us, somebody that makes you say "I want to be like him (or her) someday!". Of course, i don't think that it's good to try to be 100% as that person, but if you use him/her as an example for you, to form your own self, Is that bad?

Nah man. DBS Trunks is a true badass and finally got the chance to play main fiddle like he should've all those years ago. He solo'd the Buu saga by himself when everyone else had to work together and take up hundreds of episodes. That boy became a god level fighter and put a Spirit Bomb in his goddamn sword.
