That's just me cancelling fast at the exact timing of the opponent's teleport causing me to face them instantly and continue my combos.

Teleport cancel? You mean teleport without knocking them away instantly? In IW is done by doing back + guard instead of forward + guard. In B3 is done by doing forward + guard but keeping guard held down when you do. Hope that helps
