Yes, it sounds really weird, but it's like a family member has died. I just have tears in my eyes. When I think about it, Son Goku was at my house (on TV) more often than some family members, hahaha. Akira Toriyama has touched a lot of people with his characters and stories. Crazy... I'm just sad.

This song emphasizes the core of Dragon Ball to me. About self improvement of the body and soul as well as the human spirit to never give up even in the face of overwhelming odds. From fans of old to younger audiences, Toriyama truly touched billions with his work. Not only through his own stories, but the inspiration he was to others and their own tales. I speak for all Dragon Ball fans when I say thank you Toriyama, and may your soul rest in peace

RIP as goofy as the show may come across some times, the underlying message behind the show and its story has always been ever clear. I’m glad we all got to experience the man’s work while he was still with us. Hopefully his apprentice takes the time he needs, to not rush himself after such a loss. is the most important thing. Until the next episode, take care everyone : )

Thank you for this. I'm 37. In 1996 I was rushing off of the school bus to watch DBZ. I was a trouble maker in my early years, but Goku literally taught me to be a better person even if I didn't know it at the time. I chose to do good by helping others and giving my enemies a second chance. It's so wild to think about. This Genki Dama song really drives it home. I just finished the Buu Saga again yesterday for the first time in decades. What a ride.

There's something really special about this track. The Genkidama/Spirit Bomb is always used as the ace-in-the-hole, last ditch attack and you'd expect its theme to sound epic or intense...but instead it is peaceful, which perfectly fits the technique itself. It is an oasis in a desert. A surge of life, bringing with it hope and an end to the battle. EDIT: Had to come back after Toriyama-sensei's passing...I raise my hands to the sky, to him and Kikuchi. Thank you for everything.

It was built thank to all the people Goku met during his life. It was the end of the most destructive being ever existed: majin buu. It was the moment when the results of a legendary story would have brought the beloved and long waited peace in Earth. This moments is still emotional, legendary, nostalgic nowadays. I remember driving my car to the hospital as fast as possible through the traffic to reach my love. She was dying. She was dying of cancer. I made it just in time to see her eyes light up brightly. We talked hours and hours about how we met and how much love we had with each other before the nurse told me it was time. I then started to weep heavily never wanting to leave her side before she placed her hand on top of mine and saying "It's alright. I love you." Those were her last words before I left. As I drove home, a smile broke out on my face for I knew that she would be watching over me grinning as she normally would through the clouds and the sky. She was the only one who made me really do that. Smile. This song was the last I remember listening to. It brought back that time when we met. It brought back that time I proposed to her. It brought back that time when we hugged for hours on end as the letter came through to say she had that awful disease. I still listen to this everyday to be brought to tears as I recall her. My love. We shall meet again soon. I love you. 0:00

I can only say, it's real beautiful to see fans return to this video now that Akira Toriyama has passed to Otherworld himself. I cannot say I knew much about him, but he's given me and thousands, if not millions, of others something that still touches us to this day. And for that, I thank him and everyone else that made the show possible. Rest in Peace, mister Toriyama...

Rest in peace Akira Toriyama, you've touched so many lives, given so many motivation, it's not everyday that someone gets to have such a tangible impact on the world. There's simply no words that can describe how dearly you will be missed by all of us, but I think that Goku himself has the closest thing to the right words, "Till we meet again guys!"

Nope. It was the first time I heard this song. Way back in 5th grade, watching the Cell Games arc on Nicktoons. Cried for a week when Goku died.

First time I heard this was when Goku was charging up the spirit bomb to defeat Frieza once and for all
@Anondez6 жыл бұрын
It played when Goku was charging up his genkidama to hit frieza, then it played after he hit him and THOUGHT Namek was saved. This played when Gohan fucked around too long and let imperfect Cell charge up his kamikaze bomb, then started playing when Goku decided to take the explosion away with him. And it also played when Goku contacted Gohan through King Kai to coach him through the Father-Son Kamehameha. Those are the times I remember at least... and it really added emotional impact and fit those moments.
