The sprites of the characters were in point and the voices were the original, the problem with this game was the controls and the GOD AWFUL special effects for both the fighting and ki blasts... But to be honest, the intro of the game was awesome, and the music was epic too, Trunk's theme has always been my favorite.

@@azumarill1403 it actually has sound effects, but because kid goku is so small and is not hit by his punches there is no hit animation and therefore no sound effect. The damage is still the same as for other characters. It always felt pretty weird.

The playstation D pad wasnt exactly the nicest to your fingers for this kind of circular motion.. It hurt like hell after a few tries

Very Fascinating to see characters like Dabura, Reekum, Zarbon or Kaio Shin as playable characters... This was very unique as most games only have like a dozen variants of Goku and Vegeta and only the main enemies

I loved this game. back then we didn't have much. And a game featuring so many characters, and the move list. It was simplistic, but so were most of the psx DBZ titles. Plus to be able to train your character and take your memorycard to a friends house was awesome! Still though, as far as fighters go. Hyper Dimension takes the cake!

I think that what went wrong was it was released overseas too late. It wasn't released state side until AFTER we got the Budokai games. In Japan this game was released early in the PS1's life cycle so its flaws were forgivable. But here, it was released around the END of PS1's cycle

This game was challenging, different and really fun. Especially when you get certain moves down. You'd think it's a simple science at this point but, on very hard or whatever the fuck the cpu will surprise the shit out of you. Hilarious voices and moves were crazy for that time. Still love the game to this day. Gotenks supernove was by far the best

I remember being uncedided about buying either this game or db final bout. As a kid judging books by its cover, i made mum buy this one, as it had fancy fusions and ssj3 goku on its backside.... I nearly cried after seeing the awful graphics & the gameplay. Many years later, here i am getting both feelings of nostalgia & pain from blisters on my fingertips performing these special moves. analog sticks didn't work with this game ;)
