This is the ONE issue I own, albeit in digital. I took the Plane of Dreams mechanics and adapted them for my Pathfinder campaign.

I remember that issue. I might still have it in my trunk. (The trunk of lost games)

I used to follow a bunch of D&D blogs, ine of them (might have been Greyhawk Grognard) had a post, or maybe a series of posts describing how the Chainmail miniatures setting could slot into the world of Greyhawk, though well outside the usual areas. It might have also connected to the work of François Marcela-Froideval, a former TSR guy who writes the frankly wild Shadow Moon Chronicles, which shares some place names with a part of the Greyhawk world that Gary Gygax had let him work on.

I do remember a friend talking about having the Chainmail setting fit into Greyhawk, but I can't remember any of the specifics. I also toyed with the idea of incorporating it into ancient Nerath from 4E.

I didn't use anything from that particular issue, especially the six prestige classes for Planescape. Those were a pristine example of what you should not build a prestige class for, that is a career within an organization. Becoming more powerful doesn't automatically mean you also climb up the ranks of a political or social ladder. That was a trend which started with 3.0 Forgotten Realms and unfortunately went on throughout all 3.5. By the way, Planescape had 16 or 17 factions, so those six classes are just a small part of the total. There was no hope anything could make 3.0 psionics work, certainly not a bunch of lousy feats. Had they kept a skill-based approach like in 2nd Edition, it could have been an entirely different matter, but they opted for the lame "just another different way to cast the same spells" option instead. An option that in 3.0 sucked big time. I never red any fiction in those magazines. I loved some of the comics, though.

The comics were always the first thing I would read, especially Nodwick.

lol about Chainmail getting cancelled after they won an award for it. WOTC failed spectacularly even back then.
