So glad this franchise is getting another chance in the West! Sucks that Joker 2's base version was the last one we got, but I guess it was due to sales that the series went on hiatus here (while Joker 2 Pro, Joker 3, Joker 3 Pro, Terry's Wonderland 3D, and the 3D remake of Monster 2 were released only in Japan). Hope this sells great to justify more games in the future!

And, like Treasures and Builders 2, it's basically a prequel for another mainline game (DQ XI and DQII). We need all the mainline games released for major platforms (C'mon, Square Enix, where are the mobile ports for DQVII 3DS remake and the Terry's Wonderland 3D, and the 3D remake of Monster 2 outside Japan? Where is DQ IX outside Nintendo DS? Why don't release DQ XI 3DS Japan version for mobile? Dragon Quest Heroes I + II on Switch? Theathrythm Dragon Quest outside Japanese 3DS??? DQ X Online complete??????? It's tough being a Dragon Quest fan, but the new releases give me hope!!!

I would buy a remake of Joker in a heartbeat. I would buy so many remakes actually. If they made the games that got put on DS, into full 3D titles in the style of DQ8 or DQ11, I would be in heaven.

I am digging the new food themed monsters. Very cute. DQM is one of the only video game series that I still have interest in playing every time one is released. DQB2 was also fantastic.

I know this just is a spin-off series, but I wish SE would've put more budget into this game's visuals. Because not only this looks like an upscaled 3DS game with a few graphical settings turned up, but even the performance itself is sometimes 3DS level. There are a few cuts in the trailer that exhibited severe drops in framerates, and it's not even the Switch's fault. Because this is also the same tiny console that has Dragon Quest 11. Which is not only a mainline DQ title, but also a far more graphically demanding one at that.

Going from DS/3DS to switch really harmed the visuals. The quality of the environments seems about the same, but lower resolution made them look a lot less barebones.

This is one of the main games I've been looking forward to since the Direct that announced it. Monster collection games are always a fun time. Pokemon, Shin Megami Tensei, World of Final Fantasy, Eternal Eyes whatever. They're always entertaining and I hope I can grab this right when it comes out.

I am so unbelievibly excited for this game! I loved playing the Other DQM games that came to the west. They were easily some of my favorites and games I spent the most time in. Not to mention 4 was one of my favorite main line games, so I am hyped to be back there as well!

I was actually able to play them on console, ripping a rom from a cart, patching it, then transferring it back to 3ds is surprisingly straightforward, but hopefully in the future nobody needs to do that and they get actual ports. @@matheusmazza4398

There is an fan English patch online for the 3rd game. Was actuality a really nice upgrade from the 2nd and 1st. I'm guessing it didn't do well in Japan since you don't see anyone attempting to stream the game or even the attempt to export the game outside of japan.

OMG, I have been a fan since the Dragon Warrior Monsters 1998 release. Everyone was all into pokemon, and this was my jam instead. While others were drawn to final fantasy, I was playing dragon warrior/ dragon quest. I'm so happy that the West is getting more releases. this brings me great joy. I absolutely can not wait.

It's probably too much of a hassle to weaken a monster enough so that the rock or marble kills them, so I doubt Psaro would see that as an acceptable workaround.

I have played the demo for 150 hours so far, there is so much you can do in this demo! I've made various new skill sets, captured L-sized monsters, as well as made my own L-size monster by synthesis (a L-size Yowie Powie, so cute!) Can't wait to progress further!

You only get to keep a few monsters, their stats and levels will be reset, and no story progression is saved. Edit: this isn't a bad thing at all, wouldn't want to power through the whole game right from the start.

​@@Giganisgreat666It's possible that certain monster ranks and synthesis recipes were altered for the demo, hence why we have to start over in the full game. Monsters like Orc and Walking Corpse being F rank in this demo was odd, they're C rank in other entries.

Get SquareEnix to optimise this better, there are more demanding games that run smoother than this (0:29 small stutters). Also I'm going to get the game but I feel like they could have put a tiny bit more detail in the textures, especially as they've made games that look better like DQXI S.
