Oh my god Kim! Another adult woman who LOVES this game?! Thank the gods I found you. I have been obsessed with this game before bed. It’s just so perfect to relax and enjoy a game without it being overly boring or overly stressful. I loved the emphasis on treasure hunting. I’ve always loved DQ games but now that I’m older I have kids and a job and house and marriage… gaming gets pushed to the side a bit and games like this fit that spot perfectly for me. I cannot explain how happy this video made me!

I do hope that with Dragon Quest XII that they keep the turn based combat. I do enjoy the other Dragon Quest games that offer different types of gameplay, but I want the main games to hold onto to the more classic Dragon Quest gameplay.

When i bought the game i played it for a bit and enjoyed it, i picked it up again recently and now i am addicted, collecting all the treasure and seeing all the easter eggs from past games has been a major source of dopamine for me recently. These easter eggs don't just stop at the mainline game, but even the smallest of dragon quest side games has a presence, is insane.

So the only worry i have is this would be like final fantasy maxima where it was super catering to small children. If this game is like that I dont want it but if its actually a really good DQ game like monsters is then im interested. Im not worried about graphics. Im playing the new etrian odyssey right now lol

I love DQ games. And this one is a ton of fun. It is like builder's in the way you can just get lost doing stuff. I love that you have thousands of items, weapons, statues to find in various states of quality. 4 of 5 stars.

This game looked so happy, the brother and sister. (and though from dq11, looking like dragon quest 6's protagonist, or dq5's protagonist's kids with Nera). Couldn't wait to see you kids' review. Treasure, treasure, TREASURE, I love TREASURE. I love Treasure Math Storm, back in the day on elementary school computers, and after highschool, played Binding of Isaac, and loved the treasures there (crying baby shooter dungeon-crawl zelda). I love my JRPG treasure, and I've really been wondering if I'd get my treasure fix with this, sometimes you gotta wonder if it's too good to be true. That conductor is definitely straight out of Galaxy Express, it is, let's face it, it is. Ha, do like that Silverbones.

Have you guys tried Dragon Quest Builders Games? It is an action base type game. It's like Minecraft with questing and a deep story for both games. There's also a lot of nostalgia especially in dragon Quest Builders 2.

I just picked this up at my local Book off for 1500 yen. Started playing this on the way to a family adventure and was pleased how lighthearted it is. The game is fun so far. Definitely a big change after finishing Diablo 4’s campaign this morning 😂 thank you for the awesome review!

Looks interesting. I wish you could control the monsters you recruit. When I first bought DQ 8 (my first DQ game) I was kinda disappointed it was a turned based game but I fell in love with the series. DQ 11 is my favorite. With that said, I'm glad they finally made this one an action rpg.

Im definitely not a hardcore Dragon Quest fan by any means but I definitely appreciate the impact the series has had on video games as a whole. If anything this game has made me appreciate the series more and makes me want to check out some of the other games.

I wonder if this is a somewhat trial run of what they want to do with DQ12. Like what you both were talking about with the battle mechanics, that you get to fight with monsters and instead of turn-based it will be an action game. I love Dragon Quest, all their titles! I was expecting Turn-based combat...but ok, Dragon Quest Heroes have also Action-Combat. But when it comes to the game itself...system in general reminds me on World of Final Fantasy ;) (which was fantastic..btw) Thx for another great video :D
