The liquid metal armor is strong, however, you can make it stronger by using alchemy to turn it into the king metal armor. you can make it using the liquid metal armor, a slime crown and a piece of orichalcum. This is the best armor in the game for everyone apart from the hero and i think jessica. The hero gets the dragovian armor in the post game.

from what I read, the King Metal Armor isn't considered optimal considering it uses Orichalcum, which, at least in Dragon Quest 8 on PS2 is extremely rare.

It's only the best armor for Yangus IIRC, I remember using the Dragovian armor w/the Hero but I think that was more for the costume change. Angelo's best armor is the Dragon Robe and Jessica's is the Divine Bustier (due to the element resist and dodge chance respectively).

What works even better than buying Prayer Rings with your tokens are Agility Rings. You can buy one for the same price (1,000 tokens) at Pickham casino, then make some Mercury's Bandanas via alchemy (Agility Ring + Bandana). Bandanas can be bought for a measly 45 G in Peregrin Quay. The Mercury's Bandana sells for 2,000 G, in contrast to only 1,500 G for the Prayer Ring. That's nearly 33% more bang for your buck!

Thanks for the tip. I made so many Tokens, I eventually stopped giving a crap about chip placement and started a cycle of quicksaving after every profit and filling out the entire board with 500-Chip bets. Creating what the Game Grumps have inspired me to dub, _"the Fortress of Solitude."_ Think of it like the example you have at around 2:53, only it's _every possible space on the entire board!_ You're probably not supposed to do that, but I can reload my quicksave if I don't at least break even, so whatever...

Liked this video a lot! I originally played on PS2 but just got a 3ds and have had absolute crap luck with slots normally I'd hit jackpot 3 times an hour on the ps2. Thanks for a simplified tutorial. As for other money methods the Highlands of the desert and Neos are great for MS and Gold Golems alike.

Mate thank you so much for this none of the video's I've looked at actually start with the 600 tokens you get they all assume you have hundress of them so no idea how to get some when first starting. You make it so simple great video definite like. Wish more people would do vids like this.

Thank you for simplifying the process like this! It only took me about 30 minutes to get to the 20,000 token part. Ironically, that's the part I'm having the most trouble winning on now! ;-) Also, I just want to add that you need a total of 21,500 tokens to make the final bet you have shown.

Early on for tokens IMO its probably more worth it to farm the bingo. It took me 10 minutes of betting and soft resetting to go from 600 to 2000, but it took me an equal amount of time to get 40k off slime bingo. Sure its luck that I got a 40x bet or something but the setup time for bingo is way quicker and you don't need to reset nearly as often. Once you get a good collection of coins though I agree you should be moving on to roulette because you are able to bet wayyy more on the roulette wheel which just naturally means you'll get higher returns.

Make 7 500 Token bets, all involving 0. It'll be a 3500 Token bet, winning on 0 earns you 43,000 Tokens.

This guide is great for those that do not get the concepts behind Roulette (myself). It also starts off exactly where most of us do with tokens. Best casino guide I have come across. One more thing to add in for the last setup: MAKE ZERO YOUR BITCH Because all those chips on the left technically touch the zero block, you'd kiss away two things if you don't put 500 coins on that lone block: 1) A way to put your chances of winning above 1/3 2) A chance to net more coins If the ball lands on zero by doing this, you can net 46500 coins. Not as much profit as 1-9, but it shouldn't be slept on.

Really wishing there was gameplay footage. Struggling on understanding the 20k part, and have re-watched the video several times. I can't figure out how you're getting 6 rows without betting on the top line. Also, there's no mention in the video about it other than, "Do what I do here, hope it makes sense." :\

Eh. I’m 20 minutes into the max bet 21,500 part and only made 100,000 from my 100,000 I made from bingo. Isn’t really consistent Edit: Update, lost 100,000 down to my last 100,000. I’m just breaking even then losing again. I’d have better luck resetting my save to 200,000 and throwing money at bingo and resetting if I lose more than 15,000

Allain Almeda There's no quicksave option in PS2 if I remember right, so you'll need to run all the way back to the Church to save your game whenever you make a profit. Which I guess isn't that big a deal, since Baccarat isn't that big a town...

Eltrio2 you can't cheat at matching pairs, and this is why Sir Joelsuf hasn't came back here to explain how. He was having fun at your expense unfortunately. It can't be done.

That's why I put "cheat" in quotations. There's no way to perfectly win at it, as there are still elements of randomness, but if you take a picture of the first six reveals your chances of winning go up (to about half). It revolves around saving and resetting, just like the roulette wheel in this game. Following this, your chances of profiting from roulette in DQ8 also rise to about half. But if you lose you can just reload the quick save. Same concept.
