I'm a huge JRPG fan. I count Suikoden 2, Persona 4, Grandia, Xenogears, Xenosaga III, maybe even one or two of those Tales games as some of my all time favorite games. However I came into contact with Dragon Quest and even Final Fantasy really late. I liked some of the FF games, but DQ never really clicked for me. Even playing DQ9 in coop with my wife wasn't that enjoyable to me as it was for her and Dragon Quest 8 felt really dated to me. On top of that, I always disliked the aesthetics of Toriama's character style. BUT! For some reason, I fell in love with the looks of Dragon Quest 11 immediately. And while still feeling classic, the gameplay wasn't stiff at all. It was modernized in the right parts and now I would say, that Dragon Quest 11 is one of the best JRPGs, I've ever played. It even scratches all these classics of my personal favorites. This is such a good game. I absolutely didn't expect it. I bought it for my wife again, but ended up platinuming it immediately after >148 hours.

I can't wait to have DQXI as my first DQ game experience of that wonderful world. Square Enix have not made it easy for me to get into DQ when their advertising of it is literally non existent, so I found out about it way too late. I actually found out about DQ randomly going through the 3DS e-shop 3+ years ago and a friend told me it's huge in Japan but I didn't look into it enough until Switch was brought to existence. Now with Switch I'm finding hundreds of franchises I have never heard of and cared about but now I want them all! I'm extremely excited to get into DQ through my Switch. I'm hoping DQ: Builder 2 turns out to be what I wanted DQ: Builder 1 to be. I would love to have DQ: Rivals too. The only card game I freaked out about when I saw it. I need that game.

We finally get something from the western version of the game! I can't wait to have this on my Switch. Holy shit, this is the first thing we hear and see anything of it for more than a year or so. I see they went with voice acting. That explains why it's been taking way longer than it should have to be ready for us in the west.
