I recommend keeping one portcrystal on you at all times. I did this in DD1 when exploring place it when you need to port away, then you can port back to it, pick it up and it's basically a fast travel beacon

It wasn't a perfect game by any means, but it was literally what I bought my OG Xbox to play back in the day. After renting an Xbox and the game repeatedly, lol. Definitely handy to keep a Portcrystal with you in DD2 for dropping off loot while out and about.

FYI, if you get from the DLC Port Crystal, it will be 7 in-game Port Crystal. Max 10 PC can be place, not including 2 permanent PC. Meaning you can earn more PC from other player when dismissing hired pawn. Assuming the one that hire your pawn giving you a Port Crystal.

another key location are where bosses spawn, every 7 days or so they respawn so if you wanna farm medusa for example, throw a port down outside her spawn

Don't ride the griffon or go through the misty marshes, it's extremely easy to get to the nest from the other side, just take the mountain road that leads north east towards the misty marshes entrance, there will be a bunch of ledges you can climb up at a certain point which lead directly to the nest.

Be careful setting your port crystal. Sometimes the game breaks and will not place it where you want it and it will be gone from your inventory. Sleep at an inn before placing to be on the safe side of things. Also, the ox cards is almost a 50/50 chance of a raid for me… so rest town was a necessity.

This game is so deep. I only got the quest port crystal so far. Cant wait to go back now and try the archer lol. But it makes sense to drop the first port crystal at Bakbattahl as that's the first faraway town you get to after that quest. I think they meant for that to be the place to drop it. It's actually not very deep. Try baldurs gate. Divinity 2. Pathfinder, witcher 2. The main complain here is that it's too short even at 100% achievement. Such a waste because it has so much potential. Maybe a dlc probably.

@@dodgek5270I guess it depends on what kind of gamer you are. For me its plenty deep. I am 60+ hours in and not even half way I dont believe. Theres no way you are doing full acheive and all quests in under 90. BG is a no for me. Cant stand turn based. Divinity 2 is good. Pathfinder is a good example of being overly deep and complex for casuals like myself lol. Witcher 2 is legend. But I think this game has a ton of potential. Hopefully they do not screw it up. And yes I have high hopes for DLC/Exp

Theres also a dragon near that road at the ancient battlefield, another near the the northern bridge on the volcanic island and another northwest of the nameless village. Then another just north of vernworth. Best farm for wyrmlife crystals unfortunately is to speedrun the story and do the true ending. Ignore all quests and just do the bosses of the endgame. This nets you a couple hundred for 2 hours of work from new game to new game.

For shooting at the target with Glyndwr you can use magick archer just use something with single shot or the ricochet seeker to hit the target, i did it on my playthrough because I didn't want to switch back to archer after i already sold my equipment that couldn't carry over to magick archer

@@sephirian688 I didn't even know the quest existed I stumbled on it after I got to bakbattahl and decided to head back towards the excavation site and ran into the magick archer quest I'm always carrying around the plants needed as well so it worked out, and then I decided to look around Vernworth again since Battahl and the excavation site Island was being really difficult with the gear I had

Btw if you do the quest call "the arisen's shadow" and if you catch the person following you and you don't let them go and instead you let Brant take him and question him, you will get a regular border entry permit for humans, not Beastrens so you don't have to buy the Beastren mask. It saves a lot of gold.

So the ferry stones… there are a limited number and I think I got like 20 or so in my play through, BUT, if you go with the “true ending”, there are these fat zombie guys on the map now, and they drop ferry stones like crazy! In like 1 hour I found another 20 or so from them! Some of the weird/rare materials are in that ending area too!

Like going to elven tree and they send you to battahl and back… that’s damn near opposite corners of the map on a time crunch? If you haven’t used your stones by then, that’s when they’re especially useful! Haha

@@bowley4it’s not time crunched. It’s ‘rest’ crunched. You have 12 rests. Or so… 12 saves. Use all heal elixirs to bypass this and restore all ‘lost’ health. But you can evacuate all major cities plus volcanic island camp on day 1. Farm for 3 days until the excavation site beacon appears. Do it. Then spend the last 6-7 days just farming - as long as you want! Tips: Like I said - All Heal Elixirs are your besties! For pawns: Dismiss low health companions. Forfeit your main pawn if it has too much lost health. Then just respawn them all at a riftstone. I actually spent a good 5 hours on my ‘day 1’ of UM.

@@aqoury that happened to me too. I just restarted an inn save and then went to backbatthal first, put a portcrystal there, ferrystone to vermund, walk to the elf city. Carry the elf girl then ferrystone to the portcrystal I put in backbatthal. Seems like a hassle, but it's much better than risking her dying and restarting the whole travel again.

@@fuchsmichael93 if you're like me, I'm doing everything before pushing the main quest. I'm level 56 and still haven't done the quest you watch the coronation. In that case, the quest for that smith to be available isn't an option to me, but since I unlocked the Volcanic Island I'm using that dwarf I saved. After I unlock the one in Bakbattahl I'm retrieving that portcrystal, but until then it's being invaluable.

when you first switch to a vocation you get a free weapon and armor for that vocation (of course it's low grade stuff, you will soon find better) but this means for that elf that wants a bow.. just switch to archer (and or go get the one shown in the video) and give him the cheapest bow you have. after finishing his quests he started leaving presents for me at my house , so, yes, also get the house, it's 20,000, but it pays for itself very quickly... i had 2 free ferrystones (those are 10,000 a piece normally) and multiple other free items very quickly from "friends" (i honestly am not even sure who one of them is, and i think one is a merchant) that left a note and presents at the door. i did give a couple people a "bunch of flowers" since i had several, i'm guessing that's where the friends are from? i haven't really done many quests to make friends (except the elf one) or maybe it's a random person i saved while exploring? there's been plenty of those.

I got the court clothes from the kid in the beginning wanting the ornate box. I gave him the money. He pays you back in 3 payments. The last payment, he gives you the clothes. At least I think that's where I got them from. I finished his quest and they were in my inventory. Didn't notice them coming up in the upper right where rewards are shown.

Question! Has anyone looked into how one gains more portcrystals in ng+?? It would seem they do not appear in some loot location when the game carries over. I recall going to he griffon nest and there being the usual loot but no portcrystal (though my memory is fuzzy). I can however say with certainty, that some options for portcrystals are very intentionally taken away. For example, in my ng+ doing the sphinx riddles for the second go round, when I was awarded a protcrystal it was a forgery version. I did not realize this and tried to duplicate it with the other riddle to only later realize I then had two forgeries 😅. I just seems the game doesn't want to let you accumulate too many portcrystals so I'm asking now so save myself more headache, Is there actually a reliable means to get some portcrystals in ng+ or am I shit out of luck?? lol

6:00 for people who wonder, you can kill 2 dragons early in the game with just ballistas. One in the Melve encouter, one in Ancient Battleground. There are 2 ballistas in Ancient Battleground and it takes 2 shots to kill a drake. One of these 2 ballistas will usually be destroyed when you first shoot at the drake.

Not sure if people know this but there is a way to have unlimited portcrystals. Basically start a New game on a different account. I like to collect only the easiest 3 portcrystals. And those are the elf mission that gives you the first portcrystal and the two portcrystals from the Sphinx. Then all you need to do is summon the main pawn from your real main account. Hire the pawn and dismiss the pawn and give a the pawn the portcrystals as a gift. I usually do this one portcrystal at a time so no mistakes happen.This works 100 percent and I have 14 portcrystals so far. Once you are done with these 3 portcrystals just start a New game and repeat. There is no way i am gonna spend my time without fast traveling. Backtracking 30 times in the same areas and facing the same enemies that keeps on respawning aint fun at all. I aint got the time for that. Good luck guys

Only one of the sphinx riddles is timed, and unfortunately its the most annoying one (going to the place you found your first seeker's token) you have 7 days to find it.

At 6:11 I looked all over the area you marked for an hour and couldn't find it. This area was torture as well. The campsite decided to glitch, so I was unable to rest, and I was unable to heal. I had to fight off an onslaught of enemies to not find the portcrystal.

Someone gave me a port crystal, Eternal Wakestone and basically all the all the seeker token rewards I wanted through the pawn system. My pawn is in the top 50 ranked pawns. :) Creating a good pawn in every way you can is extremely important.

I dropped a portacrystal in volcanic island camp but it will not let me teleport there for some reason... once im arround the camp i got that music as if there was a fight. on the top of that i tried dozen of place arround the camp and even as far as the magick archer meister it still wont let me teleport. It seems like as long its in volcanic island it wont work.

It's the class of infinite possibilities. for a while, I used Thief(Draw and Quarter), Mage(Celerity), Archer(Explosive Arrow)... Mystic Spear(mirror vesture, Sperganon) / Thief(Powder Blast, Enkindle Blades) You can choose to use Rearm or not just as long as sheath your wepaon and pause to manually swap weapons you can do something like have 4 weapons and 1 skill each or 2 weapons with 2 skills each or sacrifice a skill for Rearm which let's you swap between multiple weapons

Can be found in towns I believe. Vyrnsworth, the town with Sigurd, and one other I forget

Spoiler below (so be warned): . . . . . . . . Its part of the Endgame. During the what appears to be Final Quest you get to make a choice. Depending on what you pick you either fight a Boss or you enter the "Endgame" where 3 additional Permanent Port Crystals appear on the Map and new enemies appear.

PAWN QUEST: i wonder if this would work. if you set your pawn quest for your pawn ...say for kill a cyclops. reward port crystal. You lose ONE port crystal yeah but its an extra port crystal for every other person playing the game who hires your pawn. Now if they do the same thing ie setup their pawn with port crystal as reward then isnt this the ultimate way of passing it forward items/gold for everyone?

No because only the first one to complete the Quest gets the reward not everyone hiring him. And you should never dupe/cheat stuff in an RPG since it defeats the whole purpose of the game by making everything irrelevant.

I absolutely put a portcrystal in melve, since I've never had an oxcart make it even a 3rd of the way to its destination without being destroyed by a minotaur, forcing me to walk there anyways

run away from the cart and spam come here to the pawns. will work most of the time

If the cart gets destroyed wait a few minutes and they will magically fix it and you can get back on

Instead of running away or wait as others suggest, go up to the tipped cart. There should be a prompt to aid it, just press the button and it will be fixed.

Btw using the cloud method. You can give full dragonforged armor and weapons to your friend too lol.just equip their pawn with whatever you wanna give. Then after inn save. Just download save again. Also when you dismiss then Gift them a full dragonforged weapon like the dragon bow. It'll sell for 60K. You're welcome

FOUND: Found another crystal not on the list. Use smokescreen then pickpocket the gut that makes the counterfeit items, you get a port crystal =)

Okay so fair warning. I started losing Port crystals after a while. If you keep duplicating them with the sphinx. Eventually she'll give you part crystals. And even if you give her a portCrystal she'll replace it with a port Crystal as well.
