I think the first one was a smaller team project to bring in revenue between their main titles. So even though it got a following maybe it was still never meant to be anything they overly invested in. Which is a shame.

It pisses me off how easily this game could’ve been one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. More enemy variety, increased difficulty per new game plus, and maybe more vocations would’ve made me addicted to DD2.

But if dragon princess has a really good story and RPG mechanics and added some the other things I mentioned for free I will play the game for a very long time. This game is in desperate need of a phantom liberty.

Meanwhile, they have given far more resources and marketing to generic Monster Hunter games while we know Itzuno's vision for DD had far more potential if Capcom gave it the backing it needs to grow and improve. Stop embarrassing yourself, be grateful we're getting this cool mod The Rift worked so hard on, and start waking up to the fact that AAA publishers don't care about what gamers want anymore. They only listen to their soulless marketing teams, focus groups, and shareholders. Stand up for the players, not for the manufacturers. The customer is king. Anyone who truly understands business knows that.

They've been grinding for over 20 years, accumulating more fans with each installment to become as big as they are today. Just pray that the next DD director will be Kinoshita (Dark Arisen director), since he at least know the principles of fun-focus gameplay.. and as much as people shit-talked Itsuno, at least respect his previous contributions on bringing DD to life since the core idea of this series came from his head. Itsuno's only flaw is that he carried himself like Kojima, stubborn-headed in introducing his own vision without listening to others.

I've been holding off on getting DD2 as, having been tight on money, it seemed like it needs its own Dark Arisen to make it worth playing. This popped up in my feed, and I thought this rehosting some little sneak-peek of Capcom's adding a vocation or two leading up to DD2's DA coming. I am now conflicted, drooling over this being a day one add when I get DD2, but saddened that this isn't actually leading to that DLC coming. I really had to read the pinned comment before I realized it's just a mod; it's looking that damn good!

I love DD2. Despite its shortcomings, there's nothing quite like it in the modern ARPG genre. Itsuno sans departure has me concerned, but from what I've read, the game's sales seem to be strong, so here's hoping they're working on an expansion Ala Dark Arisen. More vocations, more monsters, more story! Come on, Capcom!

I've always imagined a Monk Vocation to be purely focused on Martial Arts and hand to hand combat (maybe gauntlets as weapons) if Capcom ever added it, but a staff would be cool as well.

Don’t understand people’s gripes about no dlc when the majority of people that voted on the poll they sent out, me included, that we wanted an expansion and not DLC 😅 expansions take time and I am willing to wait for it. Besides we got monster hunter next year and that is also probably gonna get its own expansion aswell.

Dude, I played Devil May Cry 5 for the first time. I was sceptical of how good would be to play with V (some kind of summoner)... The gameplay is great and all I was thinking was "Now I want to play one summoner like this in dragons dogma". I never liked summoning characters, but V from DMC5 is so much fun! I hope they do something similar in DD2. Have you played that game? I think it would be a great inspiration for another mod vocation.

Although yes it does seem like it was an alpha test for monster hunter wilds, it was succesful in that. Wilds felt amazing to play in the beta test, the vibes and everything. So i can just play that and think its the actual dragons dogma 2 ig 😂 but seriously, this looks so good, and shows the potential of this game if they put more time into it. This makes monks look really badass and op af.

With Skyrim, Bethesda eventually embraced the modding community and made exceptional mods part of the creation club. Can’t Capcom do the same? Instead of releasing patches that break mods why won’t Capcom be more collaborative with modders? Personally, I’d gladly exchange the Trickster vocation for this Monk vocation.
