Ranger is a great class for power leveling: blast arrows trivialize all enemies, balanced stat growth and highest stamina gain per level, which imo is even more important than strength or magic if you're not just going for max damage but just want to have fun.

I would power lvl assassin. Great strength and defense spread and only has 5 less stamina per level to that of ranger.

@@sethsword9680 True, but Ranger has a pretty balanced stat growth in terms of magic and strength, and even defense, which is better if you want to use the character to play all vocations. Jack of all trades style

​​@@sethsword9680assassin gets 27 stamina per level vs ranger's 30, and while assassin gets better strength growth, its defensive growth is appalling; ranger gets slightly better magic and magic defense as well. I concur with the OP; Ranger is a solid class for power leveling. Now as far as pawns go, I've got a pawn who I just switched to a ranger at level 45 after going 1-10 fighter and 11-44 as a warrior. I'm an advocate for using ranger and warrior pretty evenly for raising pawns, as I've loved the results without failure. Sorcerer for the last hundred levels isn't a bad way to go either, but there's nothing wrong with going fighter for health and defense, or ranger/warrior for more strength. Even strider has it's uses post 100; despite it's meager stat growth, it's still balanced across the board.

I started playing ranger for the very first time in my recent playthrough (played off and on since 2016 and warrior is really fun for me.) This might be tied for my favorite class now, like I love Warrior to death, Assassin was great against bosses especially, but holy hell have never seen enemies drop so fast. Love it.

First off, want to say that I've really been enjoying this series, thank you so much for these, and please keep them coming! Just one critique is that the beginning gameplay footage seemed way too dark. Ironically it got brighter after you crapped on Radiance as an augment.

Ranger it's a beast and if played well enough more powerfull than the overhyped assassin (no need to carry tons of blast arrows/shields/swords) or the crazy bag that it's the magic archer. I would say that great gamble looks awsome in paper, but deathly shot can give you the same results without forcing yourself to carry hundreds of shrooms.

Ranger is so much fun also!!!! I like the slightly slower aiming and charging than strider but, that power behind shots! A really good ranger pawn is worth a bundle in a BBI run! Again with the summoner music!!!! I've got that mix on my playlist. Great for playing during fight sequences!

I like how people hate on briliant ranger class in DAO. It shows how much people dont understant that class at all. If u build it right and give it a bit practice it s one of the highest cc/DPS classes. Secondly Spiral arrow is the must have for any ranger. Debilitations and elemental shot decimates enemy no matter his weaknes procs. U can freeze multiple enemies with one shot or sleep group with one as well.

This is the reason I got Dragon's Dogma. A game that does ranged combat right. Too many rpg focus on sneaky bow attacks, nothing wrong with that but when it goes tits up bow is useless. This game, you have enough bow skills to suit any ranged play style, plus the melee skills can be used to escape, cc or damage.

This games just such an incredible experience :) I can not wait for dragon's dogma 2 to come out finally. It's gonna be lit yo :D, I'm so glad I gave this game a chance a few years ago because at first glance I thought it would be mediocre but after playing it this game is anything but that. It's one of the most fun rpg systems I ever have got to play :).

Tried Warrior on Bitterblack at like level 60 then changed to Ranger with no Dragonforged Weapons and just pretty much waltzed through it on Ranger a few years ago. Parapets, Tenfold Flurry and Blast Arrows for Daimon should quite literally be illegal. It's actually absurd. Rinsed every boss with just tenfold without any real buffs or Bomb Arrows but that was disgusting.

Can you include leveling information in these videos? Meaning what classes would be useful to level with if you want to play a certain class as your "main?"

This is a fair request, although in my opinion this only holds much weight if you want a specific focus towards attack, magic, or tankiness. Otherwise, you're basically gonna end up being a beast at later levels no matter what. Assassin gets the largest attack gains in the game, so focus that if you wanna deal extra high damage. Sorcerers have the highest magic attack gains, so those going in with a focus on magic should opt for that. Warrior for physical defense, and Mystick Knight for magick defense. Keep in mind, these strengths are typically paid for with distinctly low stat growths in other areas (not the case for MK.) As far as I can tell, every other class is generally rather balanced. I hope this helps you!

7:15 and fun fact! It’ll deal meh damage if it doesn’t hit a weak spot! Also Liquid vim Gimps it as since you didn’t spend a drop of stamina. It does pathetic damage at max. So yeah. Don’t like gamble? Go dire arrow.

Thanks! For this video I wore: -Laurel Circlet -Blessed Vest -Chestguard -Red Leather Glove -Seeker Tights -Dark Over-Knee Boots -Scholar's Cape And as for weapons I was using Heaven's Key and swapped from Veteran's Arc to Dragon's Glaze. Hope this helps!

I absolutely love giving my ranger pawns Fearful Din with as much stagger power as can be mustered. They tend to spam the everloving crap out of it at times, but god damn it creates some truly hilarious moments and it also makes for fantastic synergy in combat with all the openings it can create. I once killed Feste with it myself by spiking his head into the ceiling over and over. 🤣🤣🤣 I like to run my ranger pawns with Fearful Din, Tenfold Flurry and nothing else. The results have never disappointed me, and I've gotten pretty good feedback over the years as well, though I was much more active back in the day on the PS3 😎

Im 16 hours in and lvl 32 mostly as a magic archer and i used radiance for most of the game. So yes im that guy. im switching to strider though because i maxed out the vocation level and my stats seem pretty bad. Usable but bad. Also I basically have barely used strider and i need better augments clearly. Ill switch to ranger next because im not a fan of aiming with a controller and i dont like using mouse and keyboard in a action game.

You'll get to swap vocations once you reach Gran Soren, just talk to the innkeeper there, Asalam. You'll have full access to all vocations, just need discipline points to unlock them (those build naturally as you fight things ect.)

Folks are 100% welcome to explain anything I missed in the comments so that it's at least somewhere for people to potentially see, I did in practice find that Spiral Arrow was actually pretty good hence the brief mention of it being cracked but there's a whole lot to consider at once when making these videos and while I really am doing my best some stuff is naturally gonna slip through the cracks, all I can do there is apologize and hope that the effort I put into things as a whole is enough to make up for that fact.

I love the Ranger but it is absolutely a late/end game class. At lower levels longbow skills will drain your stamina in a heartbeat.

You're only allocated one save file. Most likely to manage the pawn system and prevent exploits within it.
