Dragon's Dogma | Heart of Pride

Hey guys, this video took me awhile because the rendering was weird af for some reason. But I found a way around it. Loved this anime, not exactly like the game at all, in terms of story. I personally enjoyed the story more in the anime than in the game. Play the game though, a really fun game. If you want to watch the anime, it's all on Netflix.

@qqq??? They probably do exist, but are simply extremely rare to find. In the game you rarely find wakestone shards, and there's only three people in the whole of gran soren known to posses them let alone know what they are. It's only when the everfall appears that wakestones become trivial to obtain, and it is also suggested during the smith's quest that only arisen or similarly willed people can even use them. Wakestones are after all, pieces of the hearts of dead arisen (the staff legion's might has such a piece on it, which looks exactly like a wakestone). If there was a place where they were commonplace, they probably won't save you from death anyway.

and how all the weapons here are masterworks. I have a feeling that no one included in the production of this series even played a Dragon's Dogma. So many plot changes and unnecessary ones. And they definitely misacted VA for Dragon. After hearing Grigori - every other dragon looks pale. :D

This sad ending. It seems as if he is trying to break the recursive in order not to happen again as he becomes a new generation of dragons. Of course, enduring his own pain and loneliness. so sad ending

It's honestly disappointing. The way dragons came about in the game was much more tragic tbh. They come about by Arisen who best the dragon but if they lose the fight against the true final boss, basically God. Imagine overcoming everything, after being offered wishes like becoming the duke in exchange for your beloveds life, beating a dragon on top of countless monsters, being offered a peaceful life post,-dragon, proving you have the will to see things through to the end but lost a duel and became a monster. You almost become god, a fate god themself hates and is seeking a replacement, only to lose and become a puppet who loses their humanity while wreaking havoc in search of someone to put you and hopefully god out of their misery. The animes idea was kind of ok but the game was much cooler. Like you fight the guy you play as in the tutorial and new game plus has you fighting either your previous character or someone else's character and pawn because tutorial guy also made it to the very end.

The anime isn't that bad, it's just that if it actually kept to the story _A previous arisen fights their dragon, another attacks Ethan, Ethan defeats it, reclaims his heart and opens the Evergoal and THEN fights the senechal, but fails_ then it would be significantly better. You could have some changes, like Ethan recruiting Salde on his team, a reference to Savan or something like that.

Already Ethan had already got Hannah as her main pawn because it was Ethan's mother's name. So I am sure Savan's main pawn will be will resemble his father while Ethan's main pawn Hannah will resemble his mother.

This anime was pretty watchable. Nothing close to what the game offered, but between the terrible messages, horrible story telling, knock off rage shield from shield hero, this was almost solely held up by it's animation, which I will defend regardless of how many people bring up berserk.

slaying the dragon without hate. more so just the idea of protection. Like making sure OTHERS don't go through it. Like...im.here to end the murders. you are too dangerous for me to do nothing. Instead, he went to kill ONLY for revenge. ONLY from hate. it changed him. By the end of the series he was no longer a caring person who was willing to help others. he was consumed by hate and even became the catalyst st one point that changed someone else into a sort of evil. in one episode he was responsible for something bad happening, all because of how he changed

@@agonleed3841 I love how Ethan goes from telling Hannah that they at least have to try to save others, even if it means distracting them from their quest, to flat out telling the two knights that the lich isnt his problem. Because every single time he tried to help, it didnt matter, because human beings are such evil beings that not only are they not worth saving, but they are morally incapable of being saved. Ethan can kill the cyclops and hand over the mayor to be judged by the people. But he cant stop the villagers from fighting over and hoarding food. He can save the husband and wife from the goblins. He cant save them from each other. He tried to save them, and it didnt matter. He can save humans from monsters, but when the real monster is the depravity of the heart of men, he cant save humans from themselves. In the end, he embraces the dragon's dogma: the world is fallen, and there's no saving it. And because there's no saving this meaningless, pointless world, the only thing left to imbue his life with meaning is his drive for revenge. Since there's no saving the world, all thats left for him is to lash out in anger and despair at a cruel world that took everything from him.

@@thephilosopherfromdixie7466 The way how Ethan gives Hannah a dying wish is almost similar to Barnaby's assignment. That is why Barnaby was not sent back to the rift. That is also why Hannah was not sent back to the rift. What Hannah and Barnaby have in common is because they both made a promise to their own arisen so therefore, they were not sent back. For example. When Barnaby loses his arisen, he made a promise to his arisen that he will “Help those Arisen who follow after his arisen." What did Hannah promised her arisen. She promised to her arisen she will protect humanity. If you read Barnaby's tell tales on wiki, his life seems similar to Hannah. I mean you still saw Hannah training her mercenaries while her pawn powers is still fresh and Barnaby trained his mercenaries too. Since Barnaby's arisen of being gone is unknown but it can be assumed that perhaps his arisen must of either be killed by a dragon or perhaps lost to Seneschal and become one of the dragons. I mean Grigori is not the only dragon that exists in the game right.

I thought it was decent enough, although I didn't love the animation. I cannot forgive what they did to Grigori's voice, though. He went from a badass and calm force of entropy to a generic, monster effect-voiced try-hard.

@@Diortelon That's because each dragon is born from an arisen that failed after killing the dragon, their voice changes too. It would be weird if he sounded like Grigori. In the original game we can hear Grette's voice (as a dragon) during a memory, who was the dragon that Ashe faced, the guy that turned into Daimon. It sounds like a female voice, so they are obviously unique to each dragon. And in case you're wondering, we do know that voiceline comes from Grette after she turned into a dragon, because it just doesn't make sense in any other context.

Look man, you can love the show, no one can say shit to you. But, people who say it was garbage are probably the ones that tried to make sense of the narrative, because after the original game story, writing makes little sense. Dragon says I kill people cuz that's the way of things, in game however (Major Spoilers! So, read at your own risk!): In game, The Dragon throughout the game and by the final battle with him, warns you of the cycle, those weak to overcome it and what you will need to sacrifice in order to learn the truth of the world. He basically foreshadows the betreyal of the Duke (King or whatever) who made a deal with the Dragon in order to gain power and be spared by sacrificing his beloved to him. You on the other hand, if choose to peer into the truth and kill the dragon, will be left with another choice by the Maker. To turn back, revert into a false peaceful life, or press on, battle the Maker and become the new Ruler and Protector of the world. Essentialy, a God, until your powers are at the brink and you have to create another Dragon, which in turn seeks the new Arisen. That is the cycle everyone talks about, not the seven deadly sins, not the pride but just your force of will. And in the end game makes it painfully obvious that there is no real choice. Unless you do something else... That part I will leave for people's interpretation.

The status of it was public but it showed something in the details that worried me, it said “your video is being tracked by other territories” in the status details and shown owned by “Netflix”. But the odd thing is it didn’t get automatically taken down. It just shown public but copyright claimed monetized by Netflix? That never happened to any of my amvs before and not sure if I should upload it.

So tying back to Dragon's Dogma game... this Arisen became The Dragon because he sought vengeance and hatred alone, so to slay the Dragon by the wrong motives is to become the Dragon itself. I Dragon's Dogma the Dragon is sent to test the Arisen's will to live, vengeance can be a start of a journey but not the directive. So say, if the Arisen's only objective is to avenge his loved one... what then after he slays the Dragon? Where his sole purpose on life was for vengeance, what happens when vengeance is achieved? We can assume that (by magic and shit), the Dragon itself was feeling what the Arisen was feeling, and it was in the right to judge the Arisen's worth... and pure hatred, vengeance and raw wrath are the attributes of a Dragon, not of a Lord. So the Dragon judged the Arisen as a Dragon, like itself.

Rushed, but it's a possible ending: To slay your Dragon by the wrong motives is to become the next Dragon. If this Arisen's only reason to live is to achieve vengeance and nothing else, how is he worthy of ascending? A shame tho that people who didn't play the game, can't presume that there is a higher order than the Dragon itself... mayhaps they left it to a second season in case it popped.

As you have a right to like this anime adaptation, I have the right to call it out on its terrible writing. This anime never really stays true to the roots of the game and what it was always about, never answers any real questions about the existance of the dragons and instead brings out 7 sins? Like what does that have to do with the Seneschal, Arisen and the Dragon? It really makes me sad that some people who have never experienced the actual story of Dragon's Dogma, had to be introduced to it by this half-baked, money grabbing attempt at making a quick buck. Even the promotional manga did a better job at portraying the original than this cheap knock-off.
