The part when they discover someone has placed a dead deer on a pole with a snake on the pole, one of the group mentions something like "how many people would know that symbol?" There are two possible symbols that I can think of here - that of Snake and the Deer, representing the Devil (Snake) and Christ (Deer). The other is more subtle - the snake and staff, the inferred similarity to the Caduceus - the symbol of Hermes or Mercury in Greek and Roman mythology. Here though the image is closer to the Rod of Asclepius. Whilst the symbol is associated with thieves, merchants and messengers, it is in modern times the recognised symbol for medicine. And as the group are all doctors/surgeons, this would be not only very appropriate, but also rather subtle.

VERY VIOLENT SCENE WAS CUT FROM THIS! WHO HAD THE NERVE TO DO THIS AND WHY SHARE THIS BUTCHERED 70'S CLASSIC! EVERY VIOLENT SCENE WAS FADED TO BLACK! THIS WAS A GOOD 70'S FLICK AND I ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO WATCH IT ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. THE TRUE HORROR IS WHOEVER EDITED IT.

No Spoilers At the end it was too dark to see anything. So don't know why they died OR who the perpetrator was, who the old blind man was and why rather tough men - all very clever - died under the hands of a cripple. Surely at least one could have overpowered him?

I do like this movie but I don't consider it a "horror" film. It's more of a survival thriller, like 'Deliverance". Great performances from all of these men.

This less then B quality movie couldn’t have been released in a theatre. I don’t if it was fair enough for Tv....it must have been shelved for a few years and offered on video tape in rental stores. It’s fun to watch now, kind of. Hal Holbrook should have sued his agent if he pushed him to do this flick.

What a horrible travesty of a horror movie. Even if a giant, green Vincent Price attacked the movie I would think this one was horribly bland ❤😂 it needed more graphic scenes of country landscapes and plaid shirts to justify any pooptube viewings .
