Awesome. I love how playful your design is. I'm really lookin forward to make my own. Do you sell your Dragon flys? Do you ship? Bigger question.... How do you fire them? Got a video 🤨? Loved this video. Thanks for sharing🥰Red iron oxide stain you make? Please share recipe. Love the masher idea. ha

Thanks for watching. I'll be selling some at our guild's spring sale. I feel they are very fragile for shipping. Stain is 2 tbs red iron oxide, 1 tbs gersley borate and 2 cups of water. Since it's just stain on the bottom of the wings, they go right onto the kiln shelf. Everything is fired to cone 10 in our studio.

What is stokes blue? Who is the manufacturer?
@jamiemeador2967 Жыл бұрын
It's not available commercially. It's a glaze created in house at Higher Fire.

What did you use to glue pieces together with?
@jamiemeador2967 Жыл бұрын
I thread them together in the wire. No glue is involved

What type of wire are you using? Also, do you hang these or put on posts?
@jamiemeador296710 ай бұрын
I mostly use old wire hangers. Occasionally I may use rebar wire. I hang these only at this time. I have considered putting them on posts.

Can you tell me what wire you use?
@jamiemeador29679 ай бұрын
I use wire coat hangers mostly. I have used rebar wire too - it is not as stiff.

What is the black surface you’re working on please? Is the glue in the bottle just white school glue?!?
@jamiemeador29672 жыл бұрын
Someone gifted me mats from a printmaker. I don't know the official names of them. I can still see faint images of photos and articles on the surface. Yes - just regular Elmer's glue. It burns off in the firing.

@@jamiemeador2967 Well thank you. That’s very interesting.

@@micheledickey4066 After replying I found out from someone else it's a mat used in lithography.

It’s called a press blanket and is used on a printing press. They may be hard to find unless the printer is old school.
