Congratulations, a very well thought out boat, retaining good accommodation and weight carrying on a narrow hull for easy drive and speed and silence. I would periodically investigate the hinged/swivel attachments on those hulls

Don't ever call a boat unsinkable!! The universe sees it as a challenge

The Coast Guard Cutter would like a word. The USCG has ships that are designed to be taken into the worst storms for search and rescue operations. They're pretty much as unsinkable as a ship can get, check out some of the videos of them :)

i wonder if it would be a good boat for circumnavigating around the world.

Is it big enough to be ok on the ocean? I hear its best to have 40+ ft long ship for that. Both mono and catas. But my information might be wrong and I dont know about trimarans, are they still that safer because of three hulls and better stability? I'm a total novice in this all but I started to consider learning how to sail and one day in the future getting a trimaran, if I would stick with it long enough, as I like all the stuff about them, probably the maintanance on 3 hulls might be a bit more work compared to monohulls and I guess you cant load it as much as a mono, but over all trimarans seem like awesome boats to sail around with.

Ofc it can sail the oceans. But why would you? For the same price you can get a monohull with fridge, aircondition and jacuzzi installed.

I think it can be done. The owner of the yard talks about this when interviewed by Yachting World at one of the Düsseldorf boat shows. The video was about the Dragonfly 40. You can find that video here on Y-tube if you search for it. As I remember it, in that video Jens (the owner of the yard) says they have one customer that has circumnavigated in a Dragonfly 32. The boat isn't really made for crossing oceans though since storage and weight is limited. But it seems it can be done if you're skillful enough... It ought to be one of the fastest 32ft sail boats out there. So that should be a plus... Less time on the water.

You would not only have to be an experienced sailor but also experienced with this type of vessel as they are very responsive.

How much wind will it take to lay it over?
@angela1984a Жыл бұрын
Depends on how much sail you have up. If you're a good enough sailer you should be able to avoid those kind of wind conditions. That boat is fast enough. Regardless - no matter what boat you're on you don't want to be in really bad weather in smaller boats like these. For example - isn't there also limits to what a 50ft monohull can cope with?...
@cesc1495 Жыл бұрын
These trimarans can be so stable but there are enough videos of trimarans capsizing... I will always feel safer in a monohull which is self righting
@angela1984a Жыл бұрын
You will have to know what you're doing and be conservative with the amount of sails you use relative to wind speed. A trimaran does heel, so you can feel when a trimaran is starting to get overpowered. In that way trimarans are safer than catamarans. But - since a while back there also are load alarms that will tell you when the sails are starting to become too loaded. They are expensive. But in comparison to the total cost of this boat it's not going to be that much more money...

The future is solar powered eletrical boats. The sail would only be for emergency. Solar powered boats are not depended on anything! Makes it ideal for world tour travellers. Kom nu danmark ✊️🇩🇰🏆
