A goddess who was revered by all lived in a world where magic and mystery still abound in nature. Her name was Frigg, and she was the queen of marriage and family. However, she suffered from a disease one day that nearly took her life. She went to the entity that had always shielded her, the dragonfly spirit animal, in desperation and loneliness.
In addition to its speed, agility, and dexterity, the dragonfly spirit animal was renowned for its intelligence and wisdom. Frigg took the dragonfly's healing advise to heart and believed in its power. Frigg headed off when the dragonfly informed her that the only place she could get cured was at the enigmatic spring located within the deep forest.
Despite the numerous obstacles Frigg faced on her trek through the forest, her unwavering determination and faith in the dragonfly's abilities allowed her to eventually arrive at the hidden spring. She felt instantly strengthened and healed after taking three cups of the purifying water there.
Frigg chose to venerate the dragonfly and make it her symbol because she was grateful for the assistance of her spirit animal. From that point on, the dragonfly came to represent protection, dexterity, and agility, and Frigg governed her realm with justice and wisdom.
