Autotune, no. Pitch correction, probably. Virtually every single band does it, it's faster and cheaper to fix a sour note in a generally good take than it is to completely rerecord it.

I never really thought of why I liked DragonForce so much until I heard the vocals isolated in their songs, ZP is perfect for DF, and the backing vocals are incredible. Plus, pretty much everything about DF is good, in my opinion.

ZP was good live up until 2007-ish? Unfortunately the drinking and smoking have taken their toll, and he can't, at least from what I've heard, hit anywhere near as high as he used to.

EmperorKyuu60 I believe it. All that shit takes a pretty big toll on the voice of a person. Their new singer isn’t bad at all on the new songs, but doesn’t fit well when they play old songs live. But that’s just my opinion. I also miss Dave as the drummer.

@@blink20182 Pretty sure all you have do is go into the files and the whole vocal track is isolated almost entirely, then you pull that from the game and upload it YT, at least I think that’s how it’s done. Not entirely sure, but it’s probably something along those lines.

I don't hear a talk box on the backing vocals. I think they may have used a dynamic microphone for those backing vocals which is why it can sound kinda like the way you described. If that's not the case then maybe they had the singers stand a few feet away from the mic during the backing vox recording. But I think the dynamic mic is more likely. Use a full range mic for the lead singer to help push him forward in the mix while the dynamic mic for backing vocals is more natural way to eq out the highs which in turn makes them sound more boxy like a radio.
