Hey scott! The ai wont click hypnosis against tyranatar bc it thinks its immune to psychic moves. This works with other statuses that ignore immunities like lovely kiss as well. Hope this helps! Great video

You should definitely had given Dragonite Hidden Power Flying. The main disadvantage here is that it's physical movelpool is really lacking. With that stab move, it gets better coverage against alot of annoying fights that you had in the game.

What fights in particular are sped up by HP:flying, and are they really worth slower Morty and even less consistent Red?

@urbestfriend-oz7zf HP Flying is more consistent than Return and hits fighting-types harder, making it a better Chuck and Bruno. I'm 100% that HP flying probably one-shots Haunter in Morty, seeing that TT's Rock Slide did it, so HP Dark is probably not needed.

It may have slightly more base power accounting for STAB, but what about the drop in Attack DVs required to get it?

Did you try using STAB Hidden Power [Flying] on Dragonite for better damage via STAB & Atk stat in the midgame, + Sharp Beak? Probably helps in a ton of places

If Farfetch'd of all things gets a top-tier time, it will be hilarious. (That being said, at some point you could consider notable Egg Moves as well, as Cubone, Oddish, Bellsprout and Chikorita also get Swords Dance that way)

If you think about it, Curse and Agility together is kinda like Dragon Dance and Dragonite does get Dragon Dance in future games, so it acts very on brand today. I’m very happy to see these pseudo legendaries get some much needed improvement!

17:18 And also other gens. In gen 4 and 5 Rock smash can be obtained before a gym weak to fighting (Roark and Lenora), Rock tomb and Dig before Elesa, flamethrower before Byron or scald before Clay. You need to do a bit of a sidequest to get it, but that's the dahm point of sidequests, to reward you with a new item useful in the near future.

The Ledyba trainer at school the next day: “You guys aren’t going to believe this…” And I can only think their reasoning for the Larvitar line not getting Rollout is that you get it so close to the end of the game they don’t expect you to still have the TM. As for not getting Fly before Chuck, you get the flying boost from Faulkner and Kenya for free.

Before watching: Last time I predicted Dragonite to win because of better coverage and speed, and I was correct with my prediction. However: I went back and flipped through the old video, and turns out back then you didn't even use the Curse-set, which since then has become the standard for the late-game. So, things have certainly changed. However, I don't think they have changed in Tyranitar's favor. If you now use more set-up than the first time around, Dragonite can also benefit more from its Agility-access. Now, Dragonite benefited from its better coverage and versitility the first time around, so relying on Curse might even out the playing field more, since now both restrict themselves more the physical moves, however that's only in the endgame and I think Dragonite benefits from its versitility more during the early game anyway. So, no matter how I'm turning it, I do think Dragonite will win here. Both of them will probably do spectacular, high upper-tier. Probably S-ranked. After watching: So yeah, both S-tier. Makes sense. Tyranitar being faster surprises me, although... let's be honest, they are essentially equal. At the Red-battle they seem pretty much equal, but Dragonite just had some bad luck there... On the other hand, given how consistent Tyranitar is in the Red-battle, maybe it's fair to accept the fact that Dragonite will lose some time there? Either way, at this point, they both essentially are so close that I consider them about even in their qualities. Great video as usual!
