Dragonmaid is kind of a snowball deck. If the match is going to last for long, the deck can outgrind. There s a reason it s still a nice rogue in japan.

That was super fun to see; it's nice to see that, when a format slows down, various strategies have a chance of catching up and shining through; Dragonmaid was never awful, but took so much time to set up that it'd lose before reaching its desired setup, but the format change has helped with that.

@@TheDBGrinder since the core got reprinted people bought out hosptiality to the point of it selling out of market, then they targeted chamber and sheou for buyouts. Hospitality used to be 5 and under (now around 30), chamber used to sit around 12(now 22ish) and sheou used to be around 3(now 7)

For some reason I’m now obsessed with watching Tri Brigade Ancient Warriors matches. Deck looks so much fun and is great at going 2nd which is good for this upcoming format (except for when VW slams VFD) but the deck can play a couple of hand traps to slow them down. I’d love for you to find a good match and upload it maybe 😂

Dragonmaid is really better than what it appears, the guardragon version is crazy and is definitely a meta competitor , not tier 1 but possibly tier 2.

Dragon Maids are actually pretty tough. They don't exactly grind in a way to out resource you, but they apply so much pressure that you're just forced to keep on using your resources, and then their play style is just so unorthodox that it's difficult to read what the player piloting them is gonna do. I would have to get used to them, but it's difficult when there's only a handful of players that play Dragon Maids.

Bouncing backrow with tidying is not worth it against eld. You have to make him waste his resourses to outgrinding your opp like i did all 3 games. G1 i lost cause i didnt expected that lambda at all, otherwise i wouldve bounced luster earlier

Fun fact - the names of big dragonmaids is actually a name scramble of the same attribute small dragonmaid. Example - sheou Dragonmaid(the fusion negate dragon) is a word scramble of house dragonmaid(the other fusion dragon)

I dont really understand why Dragonmaid players are playing Kitchen still. She's easily the worst starter in the deck since she does nothing without an extender and there's already 9 normal summons better than her. Playing more normal summons by adding Kitchen is just too many I think.

@@TheCardTrooper mate, you can't put everything under the assumption of handtrap, and majority of the handtrap stops the monster effect that you starts with, the kitchen combo is amazing for for the extra bonus of setting up the graveyard for the grind game. and majority of the time it's not the extander that get negated, it's the monster that gets negated. so when the first monster effect gets the handtrap, it would be exactly the same for all 3 starter, extander rarely gets negated.

@@ryanchiang9851 The extenders used in Dragonmaid usually interact with the graveyard and there are more counters to those sorts of cards being used in the meta now. Not to mention one of the common extenders can even be negated by Ash. A good player with at least some knowledge of the deck will never interrupt Kitchen since they'll know she doesn't do anything on her own. Kitchen's weakness compared to other starters becomes very apparent in these scenarios.

@@TheCardTrooper why wouldn't they interrupt parlor, a good player will also immediately punish your parlor or chamber effect activation. so your application of word doesn't change anything. and a good player with dragonmaid, will be using kitchen as extender not as a starter. literally have you seen anyone dissing a card that searches your deck and set up the graveyard, just to argue that because its a weak starter against handtrap you shouldn't play it?, no because they provide amazing effect that help set up the graveyard for you. and like you said in the reply, dragonmaid interact with the graveyard, so why wouldn't you use a card that sets up the graveyard for you to interact with. Nurse can't start up the grind when you have no graveyard set up that's why it's a brick as a starter, i don't think many people is play laundry, chamber and parlor is better than kitchen sure, but you wouldn't play 3 nurse because it can't revive itself back.
