Some of the most fun I had working on EQ was creating my re-imagining of ToV.. Creating the new dragon fights that had their roots in the original was so much awesome. I spent SO MUCH TIME playing in ToV that when Holly asked what I'd want to do as a passion project, ToV was an easy choice. Also Allen Bond is RIDICULOUSLY talented.. Solid list on the dragons. Naggy is absolutely #1.

Damn, this quality of this show is getting so high that it actually is reaching what a great game like EQ deserves all on its own. I hope this serves as an inspiration for other creators!

10) Naggy, 9) Vox, 8) Trakanon, 7) Talendor, 6) Yar'Lir, 5) Dozekar, 4) Vulak, 3) Wuoshi, 2) Vishimtar, 1) Kerafyrm (Both Versions!!!!!) This is entirely based off of nostalgia, and to be honest I wanted to base it off loot. But, to do that would mean original Sleeper wouldn't even be included on the list and we definitely can't skip him! AMAZING episode. Thank you so much for the content!

I've never played everquest but I've been watching all of the episodes for this show. It's well-produced all around. Interesting even for strangers. Was a poor kid when everquest was big, spent my time in games like tibia, runescape and dransik. So I have a nostalgia for those early years of MMORPGs. And I guess that extends some nostalgia even for this game I've never played. Kind of like Banjo Kazooie -- never played it, but have a nostalgia for it because I was into similar games of that time.

Hi Allen! Thank you for responding! And so glad I finally got to use that bit of the interview. Your audio (and Alan's as well) were unfortunate tragedies of that set of interviews at Daybreak and I wasn't able to use them as much (A real shame since some of the information was fantastic). But I was able to salvage this part of the interview and it fit well here. Hope you're doing well and thank you for being a part of the show!

I'll never forget making my first barbarian and leveling until I could go into Permafrost Keep. I remember getting closer and closer to the Ice Giants and then hearing Lady Vox's dragon roar - IN A VIDEO GAME!! (I was still in grade school mind you at the time). Anyways, it was a mix of excitement and fear. What a great video and thank you for sparking my memory on these old adventures.

Another great video. I kinda agree with some of the premier chatters talking about how EQ3 could be a prequel. Far more depth and rich content that could be created based on EQ lore than trying to look ahead and end up making something that feels like a big "expansion pack".

The sleeper is still a concept in MMOs that blows my mind to this day, it's easily the most memorable piece of EQ lore I can think of. We are the player are tricked into waking him up, and are essentially used as pawns in the war between the Dragons, with it culminating in the rampage across Velious. I can't think of any moment in MMO history that had as much implication on the game moving forward as the Sleeper, truly a unique moment in MMO history, and one I wish we could get more of.

The fact that he was only ever KILLED on the one server where players weren't pushed to work together, but were granted more freedom... a PvP server. Insane lore!

@iksarguards9 ай бұрын
I think the original dragon models through Kunark and into Velious were really imaginative, unique and distinct. Later more "refined" remodels made everything look very standardized and generic. That remodel of the Kunark sea-dragon went from being some crazy deep-sea eel with two stumpy feet to some very tired looking thing I'd definitly see in Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC.

Nagafen will always be my first love, the first dragon I ever fought. I always called she who lives in the Wakening Lands "Woosh*t" because that's what I said every time I ported in there and found out the hard way that she was up. I was fortunate enough to take part in waking the sleeper on 3 different servers. Kerafyrm is the top of my list just because of the whole zone-hop-rampage-and-destroy mechanic that happened after. Just wish there was a way to reset it so everyone could experience that. Honorable mention to dracoliche and Jaled Dar's shade because they look so dang cool.
@HectorYague9 ай бұрын
Trakanon has a soft spot in my heart. Not only the amazing lore around his war vs Venril Sathir, but also his cavernous lair down at the very depths of what is probably the franchise's all time best zone (Old Sebilis). To say nothing of that nasty AoE!!! Back in the Kunark era, the capability of killing Trakanon is what earned a guild the "uber" label.

Eqoa Nagafen was a sick fight... he had this debuff against fire resist and HP... would put you slightly above 4k HP as a tank after debuff, and he had a random melee proc that hit for a flat 4k. So so fun... man i miss that game SO BAD.
