These dragons have no clue about what they're talking. In 2020, personalized art has TAKEN OVER the gift industry. Heck Etsy's whole $6.8B business revolves around personalized gifts. This guy was way too ahead of his time. If this came out in 2020, this would have rocked the stage.

Yeah I totally agree, and I’ve personally met that type of personality in real life. It’s so aggravating. It’s perfectly possible to give constructive criticism and to say ‘no’ without being nasty

Having been in this business for over 30 years and dealing with graphic artists and cartoonists of all levels, who says his work or his style is great? Everyone has to love his style absolutely. This is how most artists propose - gun runner approach. It is only scalable if his work is the level that of a Master Artist. The Dragons weren’t rude, they were practical. He’s living in a bubble and doesn’t know the limits of the appeal of his work. I personally know three artist/cartoonists who are miles better. Peter was absolutely sincere and polite in his rejection of the business. They were all spot on.

Only Duncan could laugh at his own caricature. The rest of em couldn't resist the immediate urge to get back at the guy. Tragic how seriously these people take themselves. Kelly even started talking about how she personally didn't like caricatures - as if that was verification that there couldn't be demand from other people. Charlie was one of the most articulate presenters I've seen on the show - unfortunately his audience was too egotistical.

Complaining that a caricature doesn't look like you is a moot point. They're literally caricatures, they're only meant to resemble you not look exactly like you.
@TaxingIsThieving3 жыл бұрын
They're supposed to exaggerate a look that's already there, not make smaller a nose or look wildly different like Peter's.

I think Charlie's been taking his name a bit too seriously (allegedly).

I think they're £50 or so too expensive but apart from that I really like the idea. They are created rather quickly, it's fun, it's unique and interesting and I would probs buy one

They were being SO mean to him! I respect him for not showing even the slightest bit of irritation towards them. Also, I do think there is a market for this product - however it wouldn't be the average middle class person but rich people. Rich people will pay for anything that even slightly amuses them - this would make a great gift for someone. I support you Charlie Anderson.

Incorporated in March 2014 and never submitted accounts for two years. Two years later the company received a compulsory strike off notice which was executed in May 2016.

Thank you chief. As others have said, a few quid for a sketch in the street...And this fellow's staff produced one pic a day at a cost of £140 each - almost enough to cover their wages, nothing left over for costs, rent, profit...A very strange business concept...

@@thedunyadoneya2628 Easy there sport...I admire anyone with the bollocks to start a business, I wuz just pointing out that there's no profit margin. He looks like a very intelligent chap, he will definitely succeed in one of his endeavours, it's just a matter of time. Now I'm off to drink whiskey and fart. Cheerio!

If he's passionate and thinks aloud what's the problem? He's an artist. So his personality is part of what makes good product good.

It's a caricature not a portrait, it's supposed to be fun and exaggerated. Duncan's advice was the best, and the nicest to him
