same here. I grew up watching his movies, and I don't regret shit. I have always advocated against cruelty and violence of any kind against anyone, human, animal, or plant. And yet, I have never been able to advocate against JC's movies, I don't know why but I couldn't. His movies - even though full of violence - have a certain something that I can't define that makes them less violent... or at least not cheaply violent if I can say so. It could be his charisma.... or good personality.... or both... I don't now...

This was my favorite flick with these three brothers. Jackie is a marvel to watch but yes, they are all EQUALS in terms of the arts. Samo being the big brother lets his friends shine more. Ironic thing is Benny The Jet playing a bad guy when he is one of the most soft spoken, nicest people in Martial Arts. The man is a legend.
@blabla-rg7ky4 жыл бұрын
@J A fully agree. I have watched him in a live interview in a studio many years ago (maybe 15, maybe more, I don't remember...) and he's had the allure of a toddlers eater. I'm very accurate in my perception of people, I don't think I have ever misjudged a single one I have met or seen "live", and despite of the positive feedback Benny is getting I personally don't like him. And like I said, I almost never misjudge people....

When I see the cigar man fight with his business suit and cigar, my stomach hurts from laughing so hard. This movie is gold. And 1:50 is the most epic part. Cigar Man waits for the right time to kick Jackie's ass. Then he turns back to his place like a boss and waits for Jackie's guard fall again. This scene feels like a real arcade game boss fight 😄

+Jman Rising The reason they use shaky cam is because those "Actor"s did not spend most of their life studying martial arts, so they use the shaky cam to make the fight more exciting then it actually is, while Jackie, Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung are all true martial arts masters, acrobats, and peking opera actors.
@JmanRising9 жыл бұрын
Arthur Yagami Yep, that's probably true. Can't really blame the actors for not being experts. But at the same time though, bad camera work is still bad camera work no matter how you look at it. Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao ..the Three Amigos! Add Benny The Jet in there (as the villain) and you knew you were in for a treat :) It always amazed me, how well Benny integrated his skill set into HK movies. Obviously with the help of Jackie and the team. Still impressive, to go from real fighting straight into these movies. Somewhat his size, maybe. But his ability to move his technique to doing movies has always amazed me. I guess that was why he was such a great kickboxing Champion. He was intellegent and quick to pick things up. And when it came to Jackie villains. Only Hwang Jang Lee stands with Benny. As a kid, I always dreamed of seeing Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao ..face off against Hwang Jang Lee and Benny the Jet! I would have lost my mind, if that fight scene had ever happened. ;)
@Marvellous1322 жыл бұрын
Kenny Lo (Drunken Master 2) is also a badass villain. Billy Chow (Fist of Legend), Dick Wei (Project A) and Lau Kar Leung all gave some top performances as well. Benny was a legit fighter and tough guy though. Rumor has it that Jackie tried taking liberties with Benny in Wheels on Meals but hitting him for real. Benny hit him back in another take and the whole stunt team got upset but he said, "you want real blows, we can do that" and they declined.

I actually prefer Jackie Chan, mainly because he uses every single thing in a fight. Also, his fight scene everyone attacks him at the same time, Jackie is the king of group fights and stunt work that could be compared to the likes of buster Keaton. It would truly have been interesting though how Bruce movie fights would evolve, because Bruce Lee was a physical animal, and Bruce lee did pioneer the more modern martial arts movies..Bruce Lee will always have my respect.
@Marvellous1322 жыл бұрын
That's how Jackie Chan got his start, making Bruce Lee look like a million bucks in both Fist Of Fury (stunt for the man baddie flying through a window after a flying kick from Bruce) and in Enter The Dragon as one of Han's henchmen that Bruce easily dispatches. He was a stuntman before getting any kind of lead role.

You guys obviously know what you're talking about with regards to martial arts. For the record, I never thought any one of them was better than the others in fighting - merely that Jackie Chan was funnier. And the fact that he did his own stunts without wire-fu was what brought him to the US. Throw in the fact that he had a catchier name. But no. I don't think any of them was better than the others, and I only wish we had more opportunity to witness them ALL in action.

+FawltyStudios Hmm that kick looked like a double to me. But yea he is a beast as well, I wonder if Billy and Benny sparred off the set since they were both world champs. Now if anyone cares, I also thought the guy who fought Jackie at 0:18 and 2:00 looked familiar...he always played the bad guy in HK drama serials. Never would have thought he had a stunt background. I googled a bit and found out his name is Steve Lee, and he studied under Kwan Ching Liang who in turn was a student of Yu Jim-Yuen, but Kwan had graduated way before Yu recruited the 7. Steve learned Tai Chi, Wing Chun, and acted as choreographer for many productions. However his real talent lies in horseriding, and he's won several international championships. It's amazing how many legends there are in this fight. Even the girl Pauline Yeung turns out to be HK's only beauty queen in history to place at both Miss World and Miss Universe. I wonder if the guy she beat up is some kind of world champion too lol
