51% is just greed, it has nothing to do with being coachable. That offer was made to check how desperate she is and I'm happy that she walked.

Chewber is dead now. I think you are happy. The fact she is offered 51% is the investor cannot trust her running the show. She has a very good product and she still did so horrible for 12 years, which is very very upsetting.

She doesn't need a dragon. She needs to recognize her weakness and find a partner. She probably knows the product and operation stuff but she needs a very good sales who can knock on doors and make the phone calls.

Seriously, 50k to OWN part of a plastics manufacturer in China or minimally have direct access? I must have missed the specifics, because you can't get that. That's like hitting the lottery. That's why you need a dragon, only business people like that have contacts with China. "They're doing it for 50 cents each? We'll do it for 49 and guarantee our turnaround. How many billions of pieces shall we start molding?" Speaking of, if one of you "entrepreneurs" is looking to produce the next chinese plastic product, you're looking at $50k for the dies. To start.

If you are a small fish trying to manufacture in China? Good luck. That place runs by the law of jungle (no rule of law no nothing naive people take for granted that could protect you), and likely would be chewed out and forgotten.

The top 3 pitches all sucked, and none got investment. That’s DD Canada in a nutshell.
@wvrjl Жыл бұрын
DD Canada is the original DD. All the other Dragon's Den's are franchises of the Canadian one. Shark's Tank only exists because Kevin O'Leary was kicked off of Dragon's Den, which he also started. You have a much better chance of getting a good and fair deal on Dragon's Den than you do on Shark's Tank. On Shark's Tank you're mostly just getting taken advantage of. I recently saw an ingenious, and very good quality, product on Shark's Tank. It was a way to easily step up and put things on the top rack of your car. You simply put this ingenious little device in your door, and then you stepped up. I watched Mark Cuban buy the whole thing for $3 million. But I knew, just like he knew, that this was a billion-dollar product. They should have insisted on receiving a royalty in perpetuity.
@Orochi_001 Жыл бұрын
@@wvrjl Kevin was the only good part of DD Canada, which was not the first. It’s predated by both the Japanese original and the UK edition. The Moki door step deal was with Daymond, and it never went through.
@dontbedummy8101 Жыл бұрын
@@wvrjl That deal with Daymond (not Cuban) never closed. Unfortunately the Moki Door Step did not become a billion-dollar product. As of today with the inflated dollar they are still estimated to only worth 3 - 4 million dollars. One possibility of this inability to grow could be due to them being small fish and could not fight knock-offs, unlike a Shark could. So, your example is poor, because the Browns couple could've cashed out on the company and because they didn't, their net worth is arguably less than they could've been due to inflation.
