It was a company that had only just started up and was only predicting €19K profit in the first year yet they were valuing the business at €150K! The offers may have been a tad harsh but it was worth no more than €60-70K realistically based on that profit figure and if the two had negotiated that probably could have gotten that valuation.

Ireland and The UK are different countries but multinationals often approach both markets as a hybrid entity known as The UK & Ireland whereas local companies to either often have a UK branch and an Irish branch. Tesco, Penneys/Primark/Associated British Foods, Boots, Sky and others follow that model. International film distributors simply see the hybrid entity of UK & Ireland. Some UK newspapers have schizophrenic Irish editions which often have opposite editorial stances to their UK editions but share a lot of content.

~ BORING COMMENT ALERT ~ If that rather odd (to my non-creative eye!) pink-and-white logo (first identified as "a toilet seat" in this video...) is meant to be a stylized representation of a tonsil, as the entrepreneur stated, I'm afraid she could do with a couple of biology lessons. It's evidently meant to be a representation of the opening of the mouth/throat, complete with the part of soft palate which is often called something along the lines of "that dangly thing behind the tongue", but in medical terms it's called the *uvula.* It's certainly an element in human speech, so the symbolic reference is at least correct - unlike in the case of tonsils, which are located further down the throat and are part of the immune system, having no (direct) effect upon speech but rather intended to trap micro-organisms in order to minimise respiratory tract infections. Should anyone care about any of this, of course! :D

I dont have tonsils :( I was blessed with the combination of an overactive immune system and living in a time where people removed tonsils like it was nothing. Now we only do it in extreme cases. I guess it's okay because I get sick less often, but that could have just been from being a kid and touching and licking everything like an idiot like kids do lol. Now I have an intense gag reflex when I get a strep test swab since the stick is touching a sensitive spot that wasn't meant to ever be touched. And when I eat or drink and then laugh/cough, I get food and liquids up my nose. Do you know what it feels like to have spicy spaghetti noodles stuck in your nasal cavity? And you have to make the choice to snort it down and choke yourself (which works or often), or just say fuck it and pop a blood vessel in your eye straining to blow it out of your nose? Plus, they gave me hella drugs for the procedure. I'll never forget being 7 and being gassed and passing out with no memory of the last several hours and a throat that was on fire. At least I got all the sherbert I wanted?
